Edward woke up only to find Mary Dale is no longer in bed.
He panicked thinking Mary Dale left him.
But a glance around the room says otherwise.
Her luggage is still in there but it is open.
He hears the shower in the bathroom and concludes that Mary Dale is in there.
In the bathroom.
Taking a shower.
Naked.
And he can't help the image of her naked body dripping with water from appearing in his mind.
Much as he would want to join her in the shower like he always does before, he stopped himself.
He doesn't want to surprise Mary Dale by doing so.
"Admit it Edward! You're just afraid she might turn you away if you do!" he thinks to himself.
And that thought is a big possibility that he doesn't want to think about!
He gets up from the bed and starts to look for clothes to wear.
Today is the opening of Mary Dale's restaurant so it is going to be a very busy day for the both of them.
After he picked his suit, he turned towards the bathroom and Mary Dale chose that moment to step out of it.
With just a towel draped over her naked body.
Her hair still dripping with water.
They looked at each other and both stood frozen in their places.
They held each other's gazes.
Each of them not backing down.
He tried to read Mary Dale's expression but he couldn't.
It was as if a wall had been put up.
She broke the silence between them.
"Are you going to the restaurant's opening later?" she says in a business like tone.
Edward looks confused.
That wasn't exactly the question that he wants to hear her ask.
She turned her back to him and draped another towel on her hair.
He still couldn't move.
And no words came out of his lips.
"How can she stand there half naked looking so unaffected by my presence?" he asks himself in frustration.
She purposely dropped the towel that's draped on her body.
And Edward sees the colorful tattoo on her back which extends a bit to her buttocks.
The thought of another man touching her body while inking her with a tattoo is just too much for him.
He closed the distance between them and he gripped her arms to make her turn around.
"Why do you have a tattoo?"
"Why? Does it disgusts you?" she asks with a smirk on her lips but an unreadable expression in her eyes.
"You. would. never. disgust. me. my love!" he emphasized every word before he swooped in for a kiss.
