Broken Heart

Spent and sated, Edward kissed Dale's chest where her heart beats before he lay down beside her.

His gesture couldn't help but melt her heart.

He snaked his arm under her nape and pulled her closer to him.

He intertwined his left hand to her right hand and held it to his chest.

His other hand over her waist.

He kissed the top of her head.

"Sleep my love!" he whispers.

Dale smiled and mumbled "I love you my heart!" before closing her eyes.

"I love you too my love!" Edward answers.

He is tired from their lovemaking but he knows that he won't be able to fall asleep until he is sure that her nightmares won't happen again.

He can feel Dale's even breathing and soft snore.

Hopefully her nightmare disappears now that they have been able to talk about what happened in the past.

Tomorrow, after they visit his mother, he wants to consult a specialist about her condition.

He needs to know what can be done to ensure that it won't happen again.

Deep in thought he didn't realize that the hours have passed without Dale stirring a bit.

He closed his eyes and let sleep take over.

The rays of sunlight peeking through the window woke him up.

His eyes were welcomed by the face of the most beautiful woman he had ever met....his wife, Mary Dale.

She was smiling at him.

"Good morning my heart!" she greeted him.

He can't help but smile back.

He missed his ray of sunshine.

"Good morning my love!" he greets her back and hugs her closer to him.

Dale snuggles to him too.

"I didn't have a nightmare!" she happily informs him.

"That's great!"

"I know right! I'm beginning to think I wasted my time and money on therapy when all I needed was you!" that last part she said in almost a whisper.

Edward held her chin and looked at her.

"What was that my love?" he heard her, he just wanted to hear her say it again.

"I know you heard me my heart but I will say it again anyway! All I needed was you!" she says before kissing him.

On his forehead.

"Thank you my heart! Thank you for making my nightmare disappear! And thank you for making me happy last night!"

"No, thank you my love for giving us a second chance!" and kissed her on the lips.

Dale pulled away before their kiss deepens and awakes Captain.

Edward is visibly disappointed.

She touched his cheek and smiles.

"Let's go! I want to cook breakfast for you!"

Edward pouts and pulls her closer to him.

"But Captain wants you for breakfast!" he says as she feels him stirring against her.

She's too late!

The Captain is already awake.
