"Now go back to work." she says in a commanding voice.

She faced Edward and removed his apron.

Edward removes the gloves from his hands.

He still can't wipe the smile from his face as he looks at Dale.

She looks so serious while removing his apron.

When she looked up at him, "What are you smiling about?" she says in a soft voice.

Edward shook his head.

"Nothing!" he answers still smiling like an idiot.

Seeing him smile again like that and Dale couldn't help but feel her heart swell from happiness.

Happiness?

She missed that smile of his.

That smile that wrinkles his eyes and shows his dimples.

She didn't realize that her hand reached out to touch his dimple.

Edward froze when he felt her finger poke his dimpled cheek.

He looked at her with questioning eyes.

When Dale realized what she did, she hastily pulled away her hand.

But Edward was quick to hold it.

He firmly held her hand and stroked his cheek with it.

"I miss you my love!" he says with so much longing while looking straight into her eyes.

Dale's heart couldn't help but skip a beat with what he said.

This time she was the one who felt frozen in her spot.

She couldn't take her eyes away from him.

And she couldn't pull her hands away from him either.

Her hand moved on its own accord to stroke his cheek.

She felt the heat coming from it.

Edward closed his eyes when he felt Dale's hand move on its own.

He wanted to place a soft kiss on her palm but stopped himself.

He wouldn't want to scare her away.

They were in that position when Dale's father walked in on them.

"Here you are! Edward and Dale, the blessing is about to start!"

They stepped apart from each other like two cats scalded.

But Edward didn't let go of Dale's hand.

Thankfully, Dale didn't pull her hand away.

"Okay Dad! You go ahead! We'll be right there!"

"Alright!" and he leaves the two.

Edward heaves a sigh.

He would have wanted to stay in that position a bit longer.

The only consolation he has is that Dale didn't pull her hand away.

He doesn't know if it is still a part of her pretense but he doesn't care anymore.

For now he will be content to show her that his love for her is true.

He links her arm through his and prods her.

"Let's go my love!"

And if Dale is being completely honest with herself, she misses the way he calls her "my love".
