Edward is surprised that Dale isn't in the restaurant when he came to pick her up.
She finishes work earlier than him because the doctor advised her to take it easy because of her delicate condition.
He decided to call Dale.
At the third ring, Dale answers.
"Where are you my love?"
He hears a voice in the background asking his wife who is calling.
He must be mistaken.
"Dale, where are you right now?"
He can sense the hesitation in Dale's voice.
"Are you where I think you shouldn't be right now Dale?"
"Edward, please don't get mad at me, my heart!"
"Wait for me! I'll be right there!" he ends the call and immediately grabs his car keys.
"What the hell were you thinking going into the lion's den?" he thinks to himself.
Quen told him that their parents already had a change of heart and that they've been wanting to talk to him for a long time now.
But he refused to talk to them.
It still hurts that they abandoned him when he decided to renege on the wedding with Elizabeth.
They accepted Quen but they abandoned him.
The fact that Quen didn't want anything to do with them was his only consolation.
And after learning what his stepmother did to Dale, his resentment once again renewed itself.
She kept telling him to forgive them and forget about it but he doesn't know if he can.
The wound is too deep.
But he knows that eventually he would have to confront his parents.
He just never imagined it to be right now.
He arrived at the gates of the mansion.
He gets out of his car and the gates open for him immediately.
He doesn't have to knock on the doors because it is already open.
As if it's been waiting for him all along.
He marches in looking for his wife.
A maid approaches him.
"Sir Edward, their in the dining room."
He dismisses her with a nod and proceeds to the dining room.
He sees Dale talking animatedly with his stepmother.
"Dale! Let's go home!" he says as soon as he sees her.
Dale stood up and approached him.
"Thank you for coming here my heart!" she says and kissed him on his cheek.
"Can you join us for dinner Eddie?" his stepmother asks hesitantly.
He didn't notice that she is already on his side.
"Eddie?" he whispers.
She used to call him that when he was little.
"Yes son! Please join us for dinner! Catelyn cooked all of this for you!" his father's booming voice echoes in his ears.
"Son?" he must be dreaming.
Dale touched his cheek and looked at him with her eyes pleading.
"Please?"
He nods hesitantly.
She holds his hand and ushers him to sit beside her.
Quen is sitting in front of him and gives him an apologetic smile.
He gives him a deadly glare.
His father coughs to get his attention.
"First of all, congratulations on your wedding son! And Dale tells me that you are going to be a father soon." his father seems to be beaming with pride at the news.
"Thank you!" he doesn't know what else to say.
"Let him eat first Kevin!" his stepmother tells his father.
He looks at his stepmother.
They seem to be different people.
"Okay we'll eat first then let's talk later!" his father concedes.
He doesn't even know if he could swallow the food in front of him.
Dale squeezes his hand and smiles and mouths the words "I love you!".
But seeing that smile of contentment on his wife's face is all that he needs.
Maybe it is time to let go of his grudge and resentment.
He smiles back at his wife and mouths the words "Thank you!".
