"Beach day! Beach day! Beach day!" Connor cheered from the passenger seat of Hank's car, looking rather excited. Hank chuckled at the android's happiness and looked in the front mirror at the two sat in the back. Conan was staring straight ahead, no emotion on his face as usual, and Gavin was slouched down in his seat, arms crossed and looking miserably out of the window.

"Lighten up Gavin, you miserable sod," Hank said with an amused grin, earning a glare from the other man.

"Shut the fuck up..." he grumbled, looking a bit pale, sinking further down into the seat. Conan had managed to persuade him to come to the beach with them, but the two androids and older man were unaware of the small problem with this. Hank rolled his eyes at Gavin's grumpiness and looked at the road again. Conan glanced over at Gavin, raising an eyebrow.

"Are you alright, Gavin?" He asked, placing a hand on Gavin's shoulder, but it was shrugged off.

"I'm just fucking peachy," Gavin mumbled in response, not looking at him. This only made Conan frown but he said nothing more.

Hank soon found a place to park on the side of the road near the entrance to the beach, Connor immediately sprung out of the car, going around to the trunk of the car and grabbing the duffel bag with all their stuff out of it. Hank and Conan were next to get out of the car and Hank and Connor went on ahead to the beach. Conan went around to the door of Gavin's seat and opened it up, frowning when he saw the man make no movement to get out.

"Are you planning on staying in the car?" Conan asked and Gavin huffed, mumbling about how he would if he could. He eventually stepped out and Conan couldn't help but notice how he wobbled slightly, like his balance was failing him. He really didn't look so happy about being here. Conan didn't pry though, he just simply walked with Gavin down to the beach, soon spotting Hank and Connor already under a beach umbrella, Connor was helping Hank apply sun lotion. There were already four beach towels set out on the sand for them to sit on and Gavin immediately went and sat on the one furthest away from the direction of the water. Conan didn't take much notice though.

Once sun lotion was applied, Hank and Connor were off again, making their way over to the water in their swimming trunks to make the most of the trip. Conan stayed behind and observed Gavin, who was now sitting with his knees to his chest, he was also wearing swimming trunks but he had a shirt on and clearly had no intention of swimming. Gavin glanced up at Conan and his eyes narrowed.

"The fuck are you looking at?" he grumbled, clearly not happy. Conan shrugged.

"I'm merely observing you, Gavin. You seem to have a disliking for the beach from what I can see," Conan replied which made Gavin roll his eyes and look away, just staring down at the sand.

"No shit, sherlock," he mumbled, not moving from his position, "Go have fun with those two fuckers, I'll just be here." Conan hesitated for a moment, but eventually walked off towards the water to join Connor and Hank, who were currently having a splash fight.

Gavin let out a sigh, swallowing thickly to try and stop himself from feeling so nauseous, it didn't really work though. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to take his mind off of where he was. Maybe he should've told them about his phobia, but he didn't want to be called a wimp because of it, it would damage his pride.

He then heard footsteps and just as he opened his eyes he was lifted into a pair of arms. He yelped and glared at Conan, who was now holding him up.

"The fuck are you doing?!" he screeched as Conan began to walk back towards the water.

"Hank and Connor requested for me to come and fetch you, I knew you weren't going to come quietly so I'm going to carry you," Conan said calmly and Gavin's stomach immediately dropped, he glanced in the direction Conan was walking to see the vast surface of the ocean right there.

"P-Put me down, put me down right now!" Gavin yelled frantically, struggling in Conan's arms, but the android didn't loosen his grip. Soon enough Gavin saw Conan's feet reach the water, walking over to Hank and Connor who were a bit further ahead, the water up to their waists. Gavin felt tears spring to his eyes as flashbacks of the river incident flashed through his mind, making him shake but Conan hadn't noticed.

Conan was only in the water up to his knees when he stopped, Hank and Connor were watching. Gavin felt like he couldn't breathe, he felt dizzy, he felt sick. He screamed in terror as Conan dropped him into the water, the cold salty liquid hitting Gavin like a bullet. He could hear Hank and Connor's laughs, taunting him. He couldn't move, he couldn't breathe. He couldn't breathe. His head was above the water but he was frozen, his whole body shaking violently as he sat in the water, unable to get up, frozen out of fear. Tears rolled down his face and fell into the water below and the other three noticed this, their amused expressions immediately turning to concern.

Conan swiftly picked Gavin back up out of the water and rushed back out, going back to their little set up on the beach. He could now feel how badly Gavin was shaking in his arms, he felt like shit for doing that to him. He gently sat Gavin back down on the beach towel on the sand and got another towel out of the duffel bag, wrapping it around Gavin shoulders, repeatedly mumbling apologies to him. He sat down next to Gavin and noticed how disorientated his breathing was.

"Gavin, take a deep breath, everything is okay..." Conan said softly, carefully attempting to wipe the tears from his eyes. Gavin just sobbed harder, inhaling sharply, but he leaned into the touch of Conan's hand. Conan gave him a sympathetic look and very carefully wrapped his arms around the male, stroking his hair to try and calm him. It seemed to be working as Gavin's breathing slowly started to steady up as he buried his head into the android's chest, clinging to him tightly. Hank and Connor had followed them out of the water and were standing around, looking rather guilty for telling Conan to go and get Gavin.

After a long while of Conan's comfort, Gavin was eventually calm enough to be able to explain quietly why he hated water so much. Conan listened carefully, taking in all the information. He continued to stroke Gavin's hair as Gavin finished explaining, sobbing quietly against him.

"I'm so sorry, Gavin... I wish you would've told me sooner, I would've just stayed at home with you," Conan said softly, hugging Gavin tighter. Hank and Connor had heard Gavin's explanation and felt even worse now that they knew what Gavin had gone through. They stayed silent though as they began to pack everything up, deciding it would be best if they all left the beach. Once Hank and Connor had gathered everything up, Conan picked Gavin up in his arms, holding him close as they all headed back to where the car was parked.
