I suggest you read the previous chapter so you have a bit of a recap of prior events.***
It was the end of the school day and I needed to find Taehyung so I could speak to him about the Hyunjoo phone incident.
I figured, if anyone, Taehyung might have an idea of who Hyunjoo was working for. Maybe Jungkook would know but there was something that stopped me from asking him. I guessed that I just didn't want him to worry about anything.
And for some reason, the thought of causing Jungkook any stress whatsoever just did not sit well with me. In fact, the idea itself hurt my heart a little.
I was at the end of one corridor, looking for Taehyung when I see him on the other end by his locker.
He was speaking to Jin about something when I started to approach them. But as soon as I caught a part of their conversation I hid on the side of the set of lockers. Close enough to still be able to hear them.
"Well, all's well that ends well, Taehyung," Jin said comfortingly and patted Tae's shoulder.
"But maybe we were a little... extravagant... perhaps harsh with what we planned."
"Like I said Taetae, all's well that ends well. No harm no foul. So let's not worry about it. Catch you later," Jin fistbumped Taehyung before leaving.
Which is exactly when I decided to emerge from my makeshift hideout.
"So. Taehyung, " I said, announcing my entrance whilst banging his locker door shut - quite violently. "How are you?"
Taehyung jumps back when his locker is forcefully closed. "Oh. Hey Senthuri. You scared me there," he chuckled, holding his chest for a few seconds.
"I'm good and you?""Great... just great!" I answered. "You know, I heard something before and it kind of didn't sit well with me so I wanted to ask if perhaps you know anything about it."
"Uhh...sure."
"Ok," I said and told him of the phone call incident with Hyunjoo.
"That's terrible. Don't you think?"
"Mhm..."
"I mean what type of person hires someone and makes an elaborate plan possibly risking hurting the feelings of someone they care about. For what? Just so they could test someone else. It's just despicable if you ask me," I preached.
"Y-yup. D-despicable." Taehyung looks aways guiltily.
"Cut the act, Taehyung. I know about the plan. Why would you hire Hyunjoo? How could you hurt Jungkook like that?"
"No no," Taehyung waves his hands in negation. " You're misunderstanding us. We did have a plan. But it had nothing to do with Hyunjoo. We were just going to make it look like Jungkook killed someone and we wanted to see if you'd hide the body with him," Taehyung said at lighning speed that it was almost impossible to catch on to his words. Key word being almost.
"Wait... What?!"
Taehyung took in a deep breath and after seemingly calming down he explains the situation at an acceptable speed.
"You see, there was a plan to test you. I'm not denying that. But we didn't hire Hyunjoo. I don't know who did. Our plan was harmless. We were just going to make Jungkook think that he killed someone and then all the test really was is whether you hid the body or not. Simple," Taehyung shrugged.
"I'll pretend like that plan makes sense. But can you just tell me, how were you going to get Jungkook to believe he killed someone and where did the dead body come from?"
