CHAPTER 41: WHOLE AGAIN

"Thank-you" I whispered into my husband's chest as I settled onto the couch with him. We'd just got done talking as a family and Rosalie and Emmett had agreed to stay. I felt complete once again, our family felt whole. I watched peacefully as Renesmee held my nephew in her arm's, she was smiling for what seemed like the first time in week's. I snuggled up to my husband, appreciating his scent and touch once more, it felt like forever since we had been this close. With all the arguing that had gone on lately we hadn't spent much time together, and it felt good to allow myself to be in his arm's again.  

"No" he responded "Thank you, if it wasn't for you I never would have got the chance to put this right" he smiled. I sighed happily and moved closer into his chest. I knew in my mind that there was still trouble to come, it wasn't going to be easy having a human living with us. Especially when the Volturi found out, but as a family we were stronger than we ever had been.

"Time for bed young lady" I told Nessie as I walked toward's the couch opposite me,  

"OK" she sighed, rolling her eye's at me, she got up and was about to hand Henry back to Rosalie,  

"Why don't we take him up to bed as well?" Rose smiled, looking between her son and niece, "and tomorrow, we can sort out one of the room's for him"  

"Actually-" Esme intercepted "we already did that" she smiled "just in case"she added. Rosalie was quiet for a few moment's, taking in what Esme had just told her,  

"Thank-you" she choked eventually.  

I kissed my daughter on the head and watched as she walked up the stairs still carrying the baby, Rosalie followed shortly behind.  

"Don't you want to see the baby's room?" Esme asked Emmett, who was sat down taking in the house as if he was seeing it for the first time.  

"Nah" he grinned "Right now all I want is to spend time with you. His room will be there in the morning" we all giggled slightly to ourselve's at Emmett's comment. I sat back down with Edward and sighed as he wrapped his arm's around me.

Rosalie came back down the stairs a few minutes later carrying the baby monitor Esme and Alice had been out and brought. Not that we needed it of course, we'd have heard if he simply turned over in his cot, but if it made Rosalie feel more comfortable then that was what counted.  

"The room is beautiful Esme. Thank-you" she said  

"You're more than welcome sweetheart" Esme smiled  

"I hate to break up the party guy's" Jacob began, stifling a yawn "but I really must hit the sack, I'm about to drop here!"  

"Night Jake" I laughed.  

"Yeah, night Jakey Boy!" Emmett hollered, causing Rosalie to hiss about keeping the noise down. Edward carefully manoeuvred me away from him and got off the couch and stood before Jacob,  

"Thank-you Jacob" he said, offering his hand for Jacob to shake "You've really proven how important you are to this family. I feel honoured to call you my brother"  

The room went silent as we waited to see if Jacob would accept Edward's gesture. After a moment he slowly reached and silently shook his hand.  

"Night" Jacob said once again, turning and walking away from us.
