AN: Is this title to literal? As it states exactly what happens during this chapter. Whatever, its fine. More importantly, this was updated at a not months later time? How crazy!  Really though, I'm fairly proud of myself for updating this when I did, and I hope that you all enjoy it!

Dean POV

Dean despised research, which is why he wasn't doing any. Instead he was going through his clothes, unpacking while his brother did the research and Percy laid down staring at the ceiling, and twiddling a ballpoint pen. Typically, Dean would be upset that the raven-haired girl wasn't contributing to anything, but considering the fact that she had nearly collapsed earlier, he was going to let this one slide.

"So there's the three victim's this year." Sam said.

"Any before that?" Dean asked.

Dean watched as Sam clicked a few browsers. "Uh, yeah. Six more over the last thirty-five years. None of those bodies were recovered either. Whatever this thing is, it's picking up its pace."

"So what, we got a lake monster on a binge?" Dean asked, throwing some clothes on the bed.

Sam pursed his lips. "I don't really like the lake monster theory, it doesn't feel right."

Dean walked behind Sam and stooped to read over his shoulder. "Why?"

"Well, if you look at other places, Loch Ness, Lake Champlain, there are hundreds, thousands of witness accounts. Here, there's almost nothing." He clicked to the Lake Montiac Tribune page. "Whatever's doing this, no one's living to tell about it." Sam then scrolled down to the comments section.

Dean suddenly spoke up, "Wait. Barr, Christopher Barr. Where have I heard that name before?"

"Christopher Barr, the victim in May," Sam read out, before clicking a link.

The headline for the new page read "Local Man in Tragic Accident" below that there was a picture of a police officer with Lucas. Sam began to list off some of the information from the article. "Christopher Barr was Andrea Barr's husband. Apparently, he took Lucas out swimming. Lucas was on a floating platform when Chris drowned. Two hours before the kid got rescued." Sam then clicked on the picture in order to get a better view. "Maybe we have an eyewitness after all." he scratched at his scalp.

"No wonder that kid was so freaked out, Seeing one of your parents die isn't something that you just get over."

Percy POV

Percy wasn't really aware of anything happening around her after collapsing onto a bed. Instead, she allowed herself to get caught up in everything. The stress from starting a new stage in her life, the overwhelming grief of finding Jess dead, the confusion of why she was ever at Stanford, and why she hadn't just been killed when the demon had murdered her best friend. She wasn't ready to be brought into another plot to either save or end the world. Then, of course were the memories dancing across the back of her eyelids. Coming home only to find that there was crime scene tape, then going to the police station and being told that her parents, her baby sister who she had never even gotten to meet, were dead. Going back to camp and getting help for everything - as it turned out the camps' therapies were pretty good-and starting to recover from the utter mess that was her life. Going on a quest with Annabeth, a small simple one, just to get back out there. Everything going wrong suddenly. The monsters coming out of nowhere and ripping into Annabeth, killing her almost instantly. Percy could still hear the screams, both from her and the love of her life. Her brain becoming fogged with the grief and anger that come after seeing a loved one die. Coming to only to find that the monsters were nothing but dust. Cradling Annabeth's body and sobbing for hours. Going back to camp, and closing everybody off. Being set back miles in her recovery. Jess being the one to slowly bring her out of the hole that she had dug herself into. Sending applications to numerous colleges in the area near Stanford, Jess's school of choice. Eventually getting an acceptance letter, and everything seeming to get better again. And of course, everything getting worse again. Even memories that she had suppressed years ago were coming back. Her time with her first stepfather, Gabe Ugliano, and the constant fear that had come with it.

My life is just a loop. Everything's great. No its not. It's getting better. Nope. Over and over again until I die.

Eventually, Percy was able to get her mind under enough control to really think on the most important bit of her life at the moment. She had the Winchesters to help her avenge Jess's death. Besides, she knew better than to get to obsessed with revenge. Luke had done that, and look at what happened to him. Instead, she decided to focus on why she in particular had been called in to this mess. There were other, better demigods, and even excluding that, the Winchesters seemed confident enough to handle whatever this was on their own. Percy was absolutely unnecessary to any of this, yet here she was. Nothing about the situation really made any sense, but that wasn't anything new at all to Percy. Really, there was only one explanation that Percy could think of. She had been brought there by the demon that had killed Jess, either with the intention of taking her and the other demigods out of commision by killing her/emotionally traumatizing her (After all who'd want to fight with the thing that was capable of terrifying a hero of Olympus?) or it wanted her to join it.

Well, joke's on the psycho-demon, because in all reality, killing her best friend only served one purpose: Pissing Percy off to the point of no longer being willing to even work with the bastard. She was going to bring her fury crashing down on it like the deadliest waves on the sea. Then, she'd finish her degree, in Jess's name.

Jess. Percy hadn't given herself the time to properly mourn her best friend's death. Sam had needed someone to be strong for her, and Percy had - as she always did- elected that person to be herself. But now, considering that she was mid-breakdown already, she had no obligation to keep it together. The guilt, the despair, everything came crashing down in full force as Percy just let go. She fell asleep before she had the chance to calm down.
