"Clary, babe you have to calm down."

Clary had been pacing in the training room for 45 minutes since finding the severed angels wings.

"How could he- How did he- oh my god." Clary said, running a hand through her hair.

"The Consul is here." Isabelle said.

"What? Why? No." Clary said.

"Sebastian was in the Institute. She's here to go over security measures. Clary, she's going to want to talk to you."  Isabelle said.

"Clary's not talking to her. End of story." Jace said.

"Why does she want to talk to me?" Clary asked.

"I don't know. It could be any number of things. But you have to calm down. If you get anxious around her, she'll think you have something to hide." Isabelle said. Clary took a deep breath and looked down at her hands.

"Is it about the fire?" She asked. Isabelle shrugged.

"I don't know. Maybe?" She said. Clary sighed.

"I'm not talking to her." Clary said.

"You don't have a choice." Isabelle said. Clary sighed and Isabelle looked at her.

"Fine. Let's go." Clary said. Isabelle smiled and led her out of the training room.

Clary knocked at the door and it opened almost immediately. The Consul stood on the other side.

"Miss Morgenstern. Come in and take a seat." The Consul said. Clary walked into the room and sat on one side of the desk.

"Now, I'm assuming you already know this but your brother attacked the Institute in London-"

"He did?" Clary asked.

"Don't act surprised Miss Morgenstern. You and I both know that you helped him. You may have been here for the past month, but you can still communicate. I know you helped him." The Consul said.

"What! No! I didn't help my brother. I can't-." Clary said.

"Save it. I know it was you. Who else would want to help your brother?" The Consul said. Clary sighed.

"I didn't do it." She protested.

"Miss Morgenstern-"

"Fairchild."

"I beg your pardon?" The Consul asked.

"It's not Morgenstern. My last name is Fairchild. I didn't know my brother was planning to attack the London Institute and even if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't have helped him." Clary snapped. The Consul looked at her.

"Your rudeness is unacceptable Miss Morgenstern." She said. Clary held onto the arm rests and watched as the Consul started walking closer.

"Don't pretend that you aren't in an alliance with your brother. If he attacks another Institute, we're going to have a problem on our hands. Do you wish to be the cause of a problem?" The Consul asked.

"But I'm not-"

"Answer the question Miss Morgenstern." The Consul snapped.

"No ma'am." Clary whispered.

"Then I suggest that you prevent another attack." The Consul snapped. Clary nodded and felt the fire coursing through her arms.

"You've been dismissed." The Consul said. Clary nodded and got up before quickly walking out of the room.
