"Lapis, how's your wound" – Pearl frowned, looking at Lapis
"It's been over 2 years now, I'm fine" - She sighed
"Still, that will leave some mark, plus, what it did to your..."
"I said it's fine Pearl. Just...go check with Steven"
"...If you need me then don't hesitate, we have to watch over each other from now on you know?"
"I know and I will, thank you"
Pearl slowly walked out of Lapis's room, her foot trail at their temple hallway, looking for Steven. No sign of the boy in his own room, " Maybe he..", she turned left then continued to search till...stood in front of her is a Pink Door, as she knocked then allow herself to enter -" Steven?"
"Oh, hi, Pearl" – The boy startled, turned to face her.
"What are you doing in here?"
"I'm just, checking up with mom...I miss her"
Pearl came closer to him, she hugged the little boy from his back, a tight one, "I know Steven...me too" – Her eyes began to shed tears, but she held it back.
Rose and her army, all fought bravely against the Diamonds' troop, but Rose, she used all of her power to protect her close one, she soon collapsed when they got back to their temple, barely surviving, the Crystal Gems struggled but they all decided, their leader was put in a healing ice crystal, to remain alive.
If another war got break out, we couldn't be able to hold it again. - She thought.
"We all do Steven"
"How long will she be in this situation?"
"I don't know sweetie, we'll just have to hope for the best, right now our duty is to protect this world, all of the life that your mom has sacrificed her own life to protect, we can't let her down now, don't we?"
Steven's still sobbing but quickly swipe away his tear, "I won't Pearl, cause I'm a Crystal Gems too"
"Of course you are Steven" – Pearl giggled, cupping the little boy's face with her hands.
Their conversation was broken when Garnet, now currently the new Crystal Gems leader, came in to look for them.
"Steven, Pearl, could you come out to the main room? We have something to discuss"
"In a moment Garnet. Come, Steven" - Pearl held Steven's hand and led him out of Rose's room.
