A/N: Here it is!!! The final part of this story everyone seems to love for some reason!!! Yay!!! I do not own My Hero Academia, any of its characters, or the picture. Enjoy!<3
When Toshinori said he was going to tell you everything that had been going on with him for the past year, he wasn't lying.
He told you everything.
Sitting on your bed, his back to your headboard, your back to his chest, he told you everything, his arms wrapped around your waist as you listened silently. The quiet stretched long after he had finished, your mind steadily processing everything he had told you piece by piece. The reasons behind why he seemed so close to Shimura Nana, why he disappeared so often, where his quirk had miraculously come from; it all made sense now.
As the minutes continued without any response, you didn't even realize when Toshinori started to shift nervously behind you, his brow furrowing in worry as he began to assume the worst.
"(Y/n)?" You blinked, brought out of your thoughts by Toshinori's tentative murmur of your name. Apparently you were quiet a little too long. "I...I'm sorry. I should've told you a long time ago, but..."
"You weren't sure if you could trust me."
He laughed nervously, his grip tightening around your waist and his legs shifting on either side of where you sat between them. It would've been so easy for you to take it the wrong way, to claim that what he had kept from you was selfish and unfair of him, but you understood. What Toshinori was involved in was something far greater than just you and him, the knowledge of which could potentially hurt him if it fell into the wrong hands.
Sighing, you leaned back into his embrace, trying to convey through touch that you weren't angry at him. Sure, it hurt not to know where he was or what he had been doing or why he had even left in the first place, but he had told you the truth about everything.
What could you do except forgive him?
"(Y/n)?"
Turning around, you wrapped your arms around his neck, leaning your head against the crook of his neck and shoulder and closing your eyes. "I'm not mad, Toshinori. Maybe I was when you first left, but not anymore. I'm glad you told me the truth."
Comfortable silence dominated the atmosphere once more, soft puffs of air fanning against the blonde teen's neck as you breathed in and out. Strong fingers drew shapeless patterns against your waist, bringing a soft smile to your face. You hadn't realized how much you'd missed being in his arms. There was something about Toshinori that just made you feel safe, all tension draining from your body as you snuggled closer.
Through skin and clothing, you could feel his heart beating, your own heart beating in time as his chest pressed to yours. His familiar scent filled your nostrils, wreathing around you, enveloping you in everything that was Toshinori. In that moment, it felt as if the months you and he had spent apart were simply melting away, more emotion and love expressed in the feeling of his arms around you than words could ever do.
When you opened your eyes, the look of sheer adoration he greeted you with took your breath away. You'd almost forgotten the way he could do that to you.
God, you'd missed everything about him.
Leaning up, you pressed your lips to his, a large hand cupping your cheek and pulling you closer as both of you savored the contact. It only lasted the space of a few heartbeats, but it was enough. Enough to convey how happy both of you were to be reunited. Enough to reaffirm how much you loved each other, how your longing for one another hadn't waned at all since day one. Enough to finally break the dam Toshinori had apparently built up.
You only had a moment to see the wet glistening in his eyes before you found yourself pressed flush against him, locked in an embrace more emotional than any you had experienced from him before.
"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!"
He sounded so weak, so desperate, it broke your heart. There was so much to be said, but at the same time what could either of you possibly say? It was much more than just, "I missed you," or, "I love you."
Letting your own tears fall, you wrapped your arms around his neck once more, reaching up to comb the fingers of one hand through the golden locks you so adored.
"I know, Toshinori. I know."
He sobbed quietly in your arms and you knew it was more than just your reunion that was the cause of his tears. For a full year, he'd had to separate from you in order to fulfill the massive weight placed on his shoulders, to focus on his role as the inheritor of One For All. Sure, he'd taken that weight upon himself voluntarily, but that didn't make it any less heavy. You could only imagine what it was like, what he'd already gone through and what still awaited him in the future.
What must it feel like to have such a massive secret and not be able to tell even those closest to you about it?
As he buried his face in your neck, breathing you in and holding you even tighter, all you could do was hold him back, hold him and hope he knew just how much you loved him.
"I'm right here, Toshinori," you murmured softly, hoping he would understand what you meant. "I'll always be right here."
Lips traced the curve of your jaw, making a path to your mouth. He kissed you over and over again, each press of his mouth to yours a thank you. When he pulled away from you stray tears were still falling down his face, but there was a new light in his eyes as well, a reassurance that he would be there for you just as much as you would be there for him.
Reaching up, he brushed a few stray hairs away from your damp cheek, the touch tender and lingering. "I missed you so much, (y/n)."
Your heart fluttered and you smiled up at him, placing your own hand atop his still resting against your cheek and leaning into the touch. "I missed you too, Toshinori. No more secrets, okay?"
Bringing your hand to his lips, he placed slow kisses to each of your knuckles, looking you straight in the eye as his response escaped on a breath. "Okay." A small smile appeared on his lips. "I promise."
With that you wrapped your arms around him once more, embracing him for everything to come. Pain, heartbreak, anguish- you'd take all of it for Toshinori. For now though, the present was fine, all that mattered was the beautiful man in your arms and the way he looked at you as if it was the first time.
A/N: So...I think it's good??? It's the last part of the story so I tried to make it a satisfying ending, but I just don't know. What do you all think?
