Bet (Shishikura Seiji x Smug!Reader)

A/N: Got another request for Seiji from Tumblr and had a spark of inspiration in which I couldn't stop until I'd written the entire thing. Enjoy!

"You couldn't make me speechless if you tried, Seiji."

"What makes you so sure?"

Turning around suddenly, the purple-haired male nearly ran into you as you faced him, a teasing smile on your lips. "Because that," you said, tapping his nose with one finger playfully, "is my job."

Seiji cursed the way his mouth opened and closed while he tried to think of something clever to respond with, proving your point with every second his cheeks grew redder. In any other situation, he would've delighted in the way you tipped your head back and laughed, so beautiful as you were, but right now it only served to make him more flustered and a little frustrated. "Fine! Let's make a bet!"

You tilted your head to the side, amused smile still on your lips. "A bet?"

"Yes! I bet that I can make you speechless within the next three days!"

"Speechless in a good way or a bad way?" you teased with a wink. "Really though, that's quite ambitious of you. Only three days? I'll give you a week."

"A week then! A week to make you speechless! In a good way!" he added in case you saw room to tease him some more.

"What does the winner get?" Your smile was catlike as you leaned towards him, hands behind your back in faux innocence.

"Bragging rights?" One hand rose to your mouth in a fake yawn. "Bragging rights and fancy dinner?"

"You're on!" Extending a hand, you grabbed his and tugged him closer. "I hope your wallet's ready for the meal I have in mind," you practically purred, eyes bright and excited.

"W-What makes you so confident you're going to win?" he muttered despite the blush on his face, ever the tsundere. Why the hell did he just stutter?

"Because..." You closed what little space remained between you and him, stealing his breath with a loving kiss. "My sweet boyfriend is too fun to tease."

Seiji didn't dare open his mouth as you turned and skipped away laughing, knowing that if he did, all that would come out of it would be incoherent half-sentences and more teasing from you.

What had he just gotten himself into?

Day 1 - Attempt 1

Seiji wondered if this would actually work. He'd only ever seen it done in manga and anime but he figured it was worth a try if he was going to make someone as cool and composed as you speechless.

He lay in wait around a corner for you impatiently. Every second that ticked by made him more self-conscious of the weird looks he was getting from passing students. He probably looked ridiculous, peeking around corners in the school hallway like some shy, lovestruck middle schooler.

Light, bouncy footsteps he knew so well alerted Seiji to your approach and he shook himself in an attempt to clear the tension from his body. Just as he planned, when you came around the corner, he spun you against the wall and planted his fist just above your head, his body inches from your own as he gave you what he hoped was a smoldering look.

It seemed to work for all of two seconds, your eyes widening and your jaw dropping before your expression morphed into infuriating cockiness. "Kabedon, huh? Nice try, love." And you gave him a quick kiss before continuing on your way as if nothing had happened, leaving your boyfriend staring at the wall.
