" Why are you following me?"

Nung huminto siya ay huminto rin ako sa paglalakad sa likuran niya. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit ko siya sinundan.

After that embarrassing talk with him. I decided that I couldn't let him think I am a joke.

Also, I am curious because it looks like he's not going back to his room.
The palace is quiet at this hour but what if there are silent dangers just around this place?

" Nawala na ang antok ko. Maglalakad-lakad muna ako. Ikaw? Hindi ka pa babalik sa kwarto mo?"

He stopped to look back at me.
" Why do I feel like you are starting boss me around?"

Bahagyang nanlaki ang mata ko.
" Hindi na ba ako pwedeng magtanong?"

He eyed me up and down. Napaawang naman ang labi ko sa ginawa niya.

" Not if you have the smug look on your face like you did nothing wrong."

Okay, calm down, Samson. Valentine is just like that. He may show an aloof personality from other people but the truth is he is a rude brat inside.

How come no one mentioned that he has a side like this. Siguro nga ay hindi ko talaga ganoon kakilala si Valentine. I only relied on the rumors.

Kailangan mo ng masanay na may matutuklasan ka pang iba simula ngayon, Samson.

" I know what I did, okay? Hindi mo kailangang ipaalala. Hindi ako makapaniwalang napakababaw mo pala. If you weren't the King, iispin kong isa kang nagmamaktol na bata."

Huli na 'nung mapagtanto ko ang sinabi ko. His brows are now furrowed and his lips in thin line.

" I mean, I can't question you. I won't dare. You are the king and everything you say is right."sabi ko naman.

Since I am in his mercy, I shouldn't do anything to oppose him.

" I didn't know you can talk a lot."iyon lang ang sabi niya saka tinalikuran ako at naglakad ulit.

What does he mean that I 'can' talk a lot? Did I?

Napaisip tuloy ako.

" I don't sleep."

Napahinto ako.
Anong sinabi niya?

" Tama ba ang dinig ko?"

Hindi siya sumagot.

He stopped when we reached the balcony. Maliwanag ang bilog na buwan kaya matatanaw mo ang mga nakapaligid sa palasyo.
The night air blew and silence lingers.

Sinisilip ko pa rin ang mukha niya. Malayo ang tingin nito at mukhang malayo rin ang isip. Kapag tinitigan mo siya, maku-curious ka sa kung ano talaga ang iniisip niya.

He doesn't have any ability but why can't I read his feelings?
Maybe that's his ability. Kaya niyang maging matibay na bato na hindi kayang basagin basta-basta.

As if he sensed my inner struggle, he turned to look at me.

" I only knew about it when I was 11. When I heard that others dream when they sleep and I don't."

Hindi ko mapigilang mapasandal sa bakal na railings at tignan siya.
Ito ang unang beses na maririnig ko ang kondisyon na iyon at mula pa sa kanya.

" No one really talked about this."

" Because aside from my parents, no one else knew. They would think I am different."

Because I never heard anything about this ever happened to a vampire. Kahit pa noon. Vampires sleep like a mortal. Our brains are more advanced and so it is highly possible that when we sleep, our brains still works in its subconsious state.
