I didn't realize I was full on staring at them until Alex stared back at me, green eyes meeting green eyes.

She smirked, then bit her lip. "Well, I'll just have to keep that in mind."

"Well, Sif, sorry about that. Prince Loki...usually doesn't barge in here like that." Gerva apologized. Loki and Thor had just left.

I smiled. "It's completely fine. Totes. And, did I hear the words Prince Loki?" I almost laughed. That man looked nothing like a prince. Then again, Disney wasn't very accurate with how princes looked.

"Yes, son of Odin and Frigga." Sif said, but she looked as if she was either lying or hiding something. Probably both.

"Who is Frigga?" I asked. I hadn't seen her at all, and I would think if she was Odin's wife, she was the Queen. I'm pretty sure I would've noticed the Queen of Asgard.

"The Queen, but she's uh...she died about a month ago." Gerva said, head bowed down in respect. I did the same, as did Sif.

"Do you remember how hard the princes took her death?" Sif said to Gerva. Gerva nodded, and I can tell she was like a 2nd mother to these boys.

"Yes, but we all know Loki took it the hardest. In fact, I still think he's heartbroken over it." Gerva sighed.

"Why?" I asked. "I mean, yeah, it's his mother, but why did Loki get more depressed than Thor?"

I'm gonna admit it: I was so interested in the conversation because it involved so much Loki. I mean, might as well learn as much as I can about him.

"Well," Sif started. Funny, I would've never taken Sif for a gossiper, but I guess you just have to get her around an old wife and woop, there it is. "remember how I said nobody really likes Loki?"

I nodded. Gerva continued for Sif.

"It's been like that for millennia. Loki has always been like that-"

"Wait." I interrupted. "Millennia?"

"Yes, child, pay attention." Gerva sighed and I listened. "He's always been like that. But Thor would always want him to play. As boys, Loki would give in, but when Loki became a teen-"

"Wait, how old is he?" I asked. I was 16, but if Loki was as old as Jesus.

"He'd be 17 in your Midgardian years." Sif said. "Go on, Gerva."

"When Loki became a teen, he became distant. He didn't hang around Thor and his friends as much. Usually he stayed in the library or in his room, book in hand."

Gerva sighed. "Frigga found him one day like that, and decided spontaneously, I'm gonna teach this boy magic. I remember telling Frigga, Loki hurts himself enough without magic, imagine him with magic. But nooo, the Queen thought she was doing right. In a way, Frigga became Loki's best friend, the one person he truly did love."

It was silent for a moment, and then, "In a way, Frigga was doing right." Sif said. But Gerva just responded with, "In a way, Frigga was doing wrong." Sif shut up after that.

"Remember what Loki would always say?" Gerva said, reminiscing. "He would be laying on one of those beds and I would ask him what in the world were you thinking? And he would always respond with I was just having a bit of fun, really."

"Well, he is the God of Mischief," Gerva sighed, out of her memories.

Sif then put in, "And Lies."

"Yes, Sif, and Lies." Gerva agreed.

I stayed silent, perfectly happy with listening some more to them.

"If fact, I was wondering..." Sif said, then stopped.

I looked at her in confusion, as did Gerva. "Wonder what, Lady Sif?"

"Well," she started. "If he was even dead."

Gerva and I both gasped. "What? Loki was dead? Spill."

Sif smiled and began to tell the story of how Loki and Thor had gone to the Dark World and Loki had sacrificed himself for Thor. Thor had then gone to Midgard, fighting off Malekith. (interruption, but, was I the only one who had to pause the movie and just break down dying at this part? keep in mind, I saw TTDW first on DVD.)

"I don't know the whole story, but that's what I do know. But if he died, and Thor saw, how is he here now?"

"He's magical and a god." I said. I mean, it made complete sense to me.

Gerva had tears in her eyes. "Oh, Loki...I'm so glad he isn't dead. That would explain a bit about how he was gone for a month. I'd just assumed he had gone to Midgard with Thor. How many people know of this?"

"The Warriors Three, since Fandral was there when news of Loki's death came, me, and now you two." Sif answered.

"Keep it that way," Gerva said. "What Asgard doesn't know won't hurt them. We don't need suspicion to be aroused, especially since they both have a 50/50 chance of getting the throne."

Sif scoffed. "You mean a 80/20 chance in Thor's favor?"

"Sif-"

"I swear. I won't tell a soul."
