Ch. 18

"Um..." I said softly, almost whispering it.

Loki smiled and brought his lips to mine.

~Loki's p.o.v.~

I don't know why I did it. I really don't. But I know I shouldn't have.

I mean, the way we were laying, and the heat of the moment, I let it catch up to me.

And I fucking kissed her.

But the crazy thing: She kissed me back.

As soon as our lips touched, we both held onto each other, kissing fast, passionate, and terrible, but neither of us cared.

And for five seconds, I was in my own personal heaven that involved only me and Alex.

But on the sixth second, Alex pushed me off her with such force, I fell off the bed.

"What the fuck, Loki?" She yelled, sitting up on the bed to look down at me. Her hair was a bit ruffled and her lips were swollen.

I sat up on my elbows, somewhat silent and dazed. "You let me though..."

"Yes, Loki, but I work for you. We can't do this. I can't, it's not right..." Alex trailed off. Yeah, she was still talking. I just stopped listening.

"Loki, I'm...gonna go out." I heard. I looked up at her, finally paying attention.

"What? Where?" I asked, almost protectively.

"Don't know, the gardens, I guess..." She looked down, hand playing with her hair.

I felt bad. I felt like she was too embarrassed to look at me or even be in the same room.

"Yeah, go ahead." I say softly, looking slightly at her.

Alex nods and takes her leave.

....

Knock, knock.

I lay down, ignoring the knocks, focusing on my book.

Bang.

"Thor," I sigh. I close Gone With The Wind and set it on the table. "Come in."

Thor enters my room. "Brother!" He picks me up off the bed and slaps me on the back. "I missed you and your mischief."

"Can you lower your voice, brother? And you left for Midgard only two days ago."

Thor laughs, a booming laugh two times louder than his voice. "Loki, I will always miss having my brother, whether it be a day or a year. Now, come. I saw Lady Alex with Fandral earlier in the gardens, let us go find them again."

I started to walk again, but then stopped quickly. "Wait, Alex was with Fandral?"

"Yes, brother, get your ears cleaned. I said they were in the garden."

"Doing what in the garden?" I scowled, irritated. I know how Fandral is, and while I know Alex is a grown woman, Fandral has had millenia to practice his charm.

Thor smiled, and I realized that while he wasn't the God of Mischief, he's been around me long enough to play like he was. "Just walking together, looking at the flowers. Why, Loki, is there a problem with that?"

I smirked back. "No, not at all."

I tried to walk past Thor into the hallway out of my room, but Thor grabbed my wrist. Sadly, he had more strength than I did, and I couldn't break free.

I looked at him and he looked back sternly, blue eyes showing nothing.

"What, Thor?" I almost growled. I just wanted to see what Alex was doing, I didn't have time for a lecture.

"What are your intentions with this girl, Loki? I'll have you know, as an Avenger, I am obligated to protect her as much as much as I would protect you. You are the God of Mischief and she would never be able to see through your lies-"

No, don't get mad, keep calm. I tried hard to make no emotion show on my face and smiled. "Lies? Oh, brother, I have no idea what you are talking about."

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. You're almost as bad as Fandral when it comes to women, sometimes even men, tricking them into doing what you wish for the night. Although Fandral has more decency, he uses charm, whereas you use only trickery."

Don't. Show. Emotion.

"I will not allow you to use trickery on Alex, Loki. You are my brother, but she is my Avenger. And you know damn well I will avenge her if you hurt her." Thor is stern, his voice quiet for once, which almost manages to scare me.

He lets go of me, which signifies the end of his warning.

I smirk in his face. "Then I won't use trickery."
