Jaime's POV

The album was finished and we had three weeks until it was time to leave for the tour. While we waited to leave on tour, we actually were just chilling and resting. Gaining more energy and having more practices when we could. But for right now, I was taking Belle to her mom's house.

"Do you know why she asked you to come over?"

"No, not really. I live there, I just haven't been around much so this is probably urgent. Please go in with me?" I stopped at the light and turned toward Belle. Her eyes were filled with the fear of the unknown and I looked back at the road.

"Sure."

We arrived at Belle's house shortly after the light. After our junior year in high school, they could no longer afford the house they were living in. Ms. Smith had gotten a job but never made enough to keep paying the mortgage. They were kicked out.

However, when Belle saw the fancy car in the driveway, she took it as a good sign. I personally thought it was just strange but I kept my peace. She rang the doorbell and all we could do after that was wait.

"Hey, Annabelle." Ms. Smith greeted her daughter with a warm hug and they had a moment.

"Hey, mom."

"Jaime!" I was next and Ms. Smith soon had me enveloped in her arms. I hugged her back.

"Haha, hey Ms. Smith." We pulled away and she invited us in but the sad smile playing at her lips presented bad news.

"Oh, Jaime, you may or may not want to leave for this."

"No, mom. I asked him to be here for this." She nodded understandingly and what happened next explained it all.

Belle's mother had left the room but when she came bback, she wasn't alone. I had a sharp intake of breath at the sight of Belle's father. When I looked over at Belle, her face was switching between emotions as if she were a slot machine. She finally settled on one.

Stone cold.

"Mom, what is he doing here?"

"No, what is he doing here?" Mr. Smith's anger toward me angered me beyond recognition but I suppressed it because this wasn't about me. I just watched and gritted my teeth.

I probably should've expected something like this to happen, but sadly enough, no one saw it when Belle got up out her seat to punch her dad in the face. It made me cringe and he stumbled back a little. He retreated to a small room and I rushed up to restrain her and when he came oout, his tomato red face had a tissue on his bloody nose.

"IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR FATHER!?"

"NO! THIS IS HOW I TREAT THE MAN WHO LEFT AND THINKS HE CAN JUST SHOW UP FIVE YEARS LATER!" Silence. It was the calm before the storm and it was even scarier than the actual storm.

"You shouldn't have came back. You're fucking trifling for leaving but you're twice as bad for ever coming back. You left us to fend for ourselves. No words saying where or even why. You just left. And now you come back with your fancy suit, and fancy car, and you think you can win us back over? No. Fuck you." I pulled her back to sit on the couch after she spat those final words at him. She was disgusted with him to say the least. Belle's mom looked like she was ready to faint at any moment so I rushed up to help her and sit her on the couch too. Mr. Smith didn't like that.

"Keep your hands off my wife!" I just glared at him and continued to help her to the couch. Belle had more comebacks.

"Psh, wife!? You're not a husband or a father!"
