Friday's were another gift to the people.
You had 24 hours to prepare for the upcoming weekend. Whatever you ended up doing would be better than everything else you did all week.
Me, for example, sleeping till late, laying in bed almost all day long and moping around while doing some studying was all I did. Doesn't is sound like heaven? Of course it does, how could it not! This was another thing that displeased my mom, but hey, no one is perfect so this was just another imperfection of mine, one of many others.
Pushing these happy thoughts to the side for now, I make my way to my last class before lunch with a wide grin on my face. Today has been a great day, it has been a great week in general.
I hadn't had another class together with the stranger and he made it his mission to avoid me during lunch breaks. And by avoiding me I mean he didn't come to the cafeteria at all. I was letting him have all the fun this week since I head a free period after lunch and instead of spending it in the library, I was going to volunteer my help to the secretary.
She was the one that had every schedule of every student and she had a soft spot for me and I knew she would never reject me which meant that soon I would have the full knowledge of Mr. Sorin's classes. Maybe I could poke around some of his personal infos too.
"Hey Evie."-Abby greets me in the second row as I go to sit behind her.
To my surprise I catch my soon to be buddy with the same hoodie in the same spot. Yup, you guessed it. The back of the class.
"Hey Abby."-I give her a wave with a smile as I go to join Sorin in the back, but she stops me by grabbing my arm. I furrow my brows at her, confused by her sudden hostility.
"Just a heads up, in case you didn't hear, the substitute is here today."-she says and I groan.
"You've got to be kidding me!"-I say with a little higher voice than usual, earning some looks from the students in the class.
"I guess the back of the class is your best option today."-she releases me with a sympathetic smile.
"Today and everyday he is here. I mean, if the professor can't do this job, why not someone else?"
"Someone else could be the substitute himself."-she says and I widen my eyes in horror.
"No, anyone, anything but him."-I whisper to which Abby laughs. "And here I thought today was going to be amazing." Abby waves her hand dismissing my words.
"Today is a great day. This is just a mere inconvenience, just 45 minutes of torture, that's all."-she says with a wink making me laugh as I walk to the back of the class.
I debate whether to sit with my buddy, but decide against it. Dealing with professor Jackson required my full attention and I couldn't risk losing it by annoying Sorin, so I ended up sitting a row before him, two desks to his right. He doesn't even raise his head, his hood still covering it and it makes me question myself. Doesn't he get hot or his hair greasy? I know mine does.
"Good day children."-Jackson bursts through the doors, a fake smile plastered to his face, his jeans clinging to his body while his sweatshirt is a bit more loose.
To any other girl he was a dream come true, the hot professor every female wanted with his blonde hair and blue eyes. And I had to admit it, he was nice looking, but his stupid mouth ruined the whole picture. The minute he opened that hell hole, he became the ugliest creature, in my eyes at least.
We grumble a response in unison as he sets his eyes to scan the classroom. I know what he is doing and my suspicions come true the second his eyes land on me and his mouth quirks into a smirk.
