Don't poke the bear is a great warning.
Humans always try to dominate the others who are bellow them without knowing the whole situation. And that pesky little substitute teacher wasn't any fucking better.
He should have known better than to mess with me. No one crosses me and goes on unharmed. I may have had something more sinister plotted for him, but seeing as I am in an icy land, I had to be careful with my actions.
It had taken a lot of convincing and indifference for Bryan to actually let me have a walk around the town. He knew me that well and that's why instead of listening to me for 15 minutes, I had to practically beg him for almost 2 fucking hours. But, despite it all, I had succeeded in my attempt. He had caved and had let me do my thing, but not before giving me a fucking curfew. I had to be back at the mansion by nightfall.
That wouldn't be a problem.
I had been sneaking around all Saturday as I tried to come in contact with one of my guys. The teacher needed a lesson to learn and who better than me to give it to him. A little damage went a long way.
Glancing at my phone as I wait for my dude to arrive, I survey the surroundings. We decided to meet in a secluded part, a dead end street between some stores, a place where you'd least expect to see demons.
Humans were attracted to dark, suspicious spots so those were out of our options, but they seemed to be oblivious to the obvious parts of the town, the ones where more evil things went down.
Finally, a spark jolts beside me and in passes Pat, his spiky mohawk coming first in view.
"What is it with demons and being fucking late?"-I grit angrily at him as he dusts himself off.
"Chill your balls Zar. I'm here aren't I?"-he says opening his arms. "And it's your fault honestly. Your father is watching us like a hawk."
"He knows me to well."-I respond at his accusation.
"Yes, he does. So talk quickly what is it that you want before one of his minions shows up and catches us."-he gestures with his hand for me to hurry up.
"I need you to deal with someone for me." He widens his eyes at me. "Not eliminate him, just scare him a bit."
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
"Imagination, my friend. Use it. You could visit him in his sleep, scare him in a dark alley, become his living nightmare, those sort of things."
"Burn his apartment down?"-he questions with a sinister smirk on his face.
"No."-I narrow my eyes at him, but then a thought occurs to me. "Not his apartment, but maybe his car, leaving a small threatening message behind. That would be simple for you to do."-I give him an evil smile.
"Dude, that's piece of cake and you know it. But you know what it's funny though?"-he raises an eyebrow at me.
"What's that Pat?"
"The great Balthazar is actually asking for my help instead of dealing with this fucking shit on his own."
His words rattle my insides and anger me. I push myself off from the wall I was leaning on and go to stand right in front of him, my face lowering to his.
"You know my father is breathing down my fucking neck and if I plan to return I have to be squeaky clean before his eyes, so don't fuck around with me. Are you capable of doing this or not? There are others I can assign in case..."
"I can do it Zar, don't worry. I know the trouble you are going through and I can't wait for you to come back. Some shit needs cleaning up, but we can't without you. We actually miss you, you fucker."-he says as he clasps my shoulder making me chuckle.
