Being a girl sucks!
It's all pretty and magical and majestic when others describe women, how they bear life and grow a child and all that crap, but right now, I would give anything to be a guy. Right now being a time span of approximately a week that happens every month.
Yup, you guessed it. Period time.
This is the only time that I'd rather curl in a ball on my bed, get some chocolate close to me, cover myself with the fluffiest blanket and wait for the pain and time to pass. Don't worry, I knew there were pills about period pain, but I wasn't a very big fan of them. Plus, they only stopped the pain, nothing else. I still had hard time doing gym, standing up abruptly and heavens forbid, sneeze.
So, yeah, you get how crappy I am feeling on a gloomy Monday morning. Even the day is reflecting my mood and it makes me feel appreciative that mother nature is feeling sympathetic of me.
The highlight that is somewhat taking my mind of my current state is that spring break was next week. Rumor has it that because of schedule conflicts, unlike previous years when we'd be given only one free week, this year we were getting two weeks. Needless to say, fourteen days of free time was something I really needed. The work had picked up, tests had been hard and I was very much looking forward to the break.
Because I go so deep inside my own head, I sometimes zone out and don't see where I'm going. Something like right now. And this ends up in me colliding with a person a little forcefully, enough to send us both on the floor.
"Oh my... Sorry."-a female voice says and I raise my head to see who it is.
The stranger, a brunette girl with wavy hair, chocolate eyes and dark colored skin stands up in front of me as she dusts herself from the dirt that isn't there. She then smiles at me as she extends her hand to me. Taking the much needed help, I place my hand in hers and allow myself to be pulled to my feet.
"I'm sorry too. I wasn't looking where I was walking."-I say with a smile as I readjust my backpack. She shrugs at my response.
"I wasn't either, I was too busy looking around."-she says before extending her hand again. "I'm Nora and I'm here for research purposes from my college for a week."
"Oh, nice to meet you."-I shake her hand. "I'm Evie and welcome to our school."-I smile at her.
"Wait, you're Evie?"-she widens her eyes at me. "Wow, this is an amazing coincidence."-she grins.
"It is?"-I furrow my brows at her.
"Yes!"-she exclaims. "You're principle told me to meet up with you because he said that you'd be of great help." I gape at her.
"Great help for what?"
"Oh, I just need to interview someone in order to get an idea at the relationships between students, students and professors, other professors, etcetera. Stuff like that. So, the principle told me that you'd be the best choice for me to interview."
"Well, I'm honored that he proposed me and I hope I can help you. I am at your service."-I smile and she grins as her eyes sparkle.
"You have no idea." I get a weird feeling at the way she says this, but I don't get to dwell on it for too long because she continues talking. "So, I will be coming to some classes and sitting in the back, monitoring how one day goes around here then I'll sit down and have a talk with you. When would you be free?"
I almost say lunch, but I doubt Devon would enjoy more company, so I settle for the second best option.
"We could do it after school. I hope it doesn't take too long though."
