Lunch time equals twenty five minutes of heaven.

Me and Abby are the first to leave the classroom as soon as the bell rings and now we're on our way to the cafeteria.

"Hey, I never asked you about the scholarship trouble you had."-I say as we walk.

"Oh, everything worked out. The money I receive every month hadn't arrived the last two and the bank said that maybe the school had cut the money out. Turns out it was just a system glitch that I, among many others, had trouble with."-she explains while we near the cafeteria.

"Well that's good. I'm glade it worked out."

"Yeah, me too. I just lost three hours with the principle making sure everything was back to normal."

"Like missing class bothered you."-I tease he as she chuckles in the entrance of the cafeteria. She opens her mouth to speak, but another voice cuts her short.

"Hey gorgeous." We both turn around to see Jack approaching us with a huge grin on his face. He reaches us and loops his hand around Abby's waist.

"Jack, hey."-she speaks flustered and I refrain from rolling my eyes. "Um, this is my friend Evie."-she says gesturing to me as Jack stretches his arm to me.

"Hey, I'm..."

"Jack, yes, I know. As does everyone else."-I give his hand a tight grip with a smile plastered on my lips.

"Oh, cool."-he smiles while Abby blushes even more.

"Took you some time to grow balls and ask this beauty out." Abby snorts at my words as his eyes widen at me. He looks taken aback and tries his best to hide it.

"Um, yeah, well..."

"No need for explanations, I'm just glad you did. But keep in mind that if I see a frown cover her face and it is caused by you, well, let's just say I have seen enough movies and series so I know how to hide a body. Perfectly."-I finish my threat with a wink. "You guys have a good time and don't do anything stupid without protection."

I chuckle as I turn to the food court leaving behind a tomato faced Jack and Abby. Joking around couples never gets old.

After picking up my chicken sandwich, a shocker I know, I enter the cafeteria and look around. The spot at the pillar is empty once again and I can't say I'm not disappointed to find that buddy decided not to show up. Sighing, I continue to look in search for a table, but a shove from behind makes me stumble forwards just a bit, but enough to make me almost drop my precious food.

"Can you watch where..."-my words trail off as I turn around and a grin spreads on my face at the sight of my friend. Devon looks at me with an arched eyebrow.

"Stop standing in the middle like you fucking own the place."-he says before starting to walk away. I am momentarily frozen in the spot at the sight of him, but I quickly snap out of it and go to follow him, quickening my step so I could reach him.

Devon walks around some people and tables as he enters a more hidden part of the cafeteria, one I didn't know it existed. He sits at the table, his hoodie over his head as he raises his eyes to me.

"How great of you to follow when you weren't invited."-he says with narrowed eyes.

"Yeah, like there was a chance I was letting you walk away to hide again."-I say with a snort as I place the tray in the seat opposite him. Sitting down, I throw a glance around.

This place is a bit further from the entrance and the sliding partitions that close off half the space make it impossible to see this place. There are only two tables here and we are sitting at one.
