After the visit to Wayne’s, Jaden was diagnosed with Oneiro, like Wayne had said, it was one of the rarest illness in the world. There was only about 20 people in the world that was known to have Oneiro. Most of the people with Oneiro were children and fortunately, they were too young to dream about world domination. Their parents rather let their children die as the medicine for Oneiro was very expensive for its rarity. It was too dangerous to be in this world. One nightmare may erase mankind.
Anyway, Jaden had to take his meds every single afternoon, if not, he might have nightmares that come true. With Sam taking over Pear Inc, Jaden still had a lot of money and thus he could pay for his meds. Thank goodness for wealth.
“Ring!!” The shrilled school bell rang across the kindergarten. Children were rushing out of their classrooms, trying to find their parents, as well as to reach home soon.
Jaden hated the fact that school ended early. It was a place where he could forget that he was an orphan. But when school ended, everyone had their parents to look for while Jaden didn’t have any. Except for Isabella. Jaden shivered in fear.
“Hey, boy, get your butt over here!” Isabella shouted at Jaden.
Why is Aunt Isabella suddenly so mean to me? It still hurts where she hit me yesterday. Uncle Sam was mean too. They didn’t give me anything to eat besides a piece of bread. I didn’t do anything wrong… I guess nobody truly loves me after all, maybe only Wayne.
Jaden walked towards her hesitantly.
“Uncle Sam wants you to stay in your room after school, okay! Don’t you dare leave your room without my or Uncle Sam’s permission, GOT IT?!”
Jaden nodded his head gently. He did not dare to look Isabella in the eyes.
“Good, now move, you useless junk! Uncle Sam and I only allow you to stay with me because of your money, and without your money, you are worthless! But now, you are making us pay for your meds? I could kill you if I wanted to, if only it was legal. Stupid social services, following me around for the past few days! I had to be nice to you, ugh!”
Jaden walked beside Isabella but with caution. He was afraid that Isabella may hit him again. He sniffed as he thought about what Isabella had said.
You useless junk!
You are worthless!
I could kill you if I wanted to, if only it was legal.
He did not know what “legal” means but the rest of the sentence had told him enough. He was unwanted.
I need you, Wayne. You are the only one who trusts me and love me now.
He sighed as he had reached his house of horror.

“It’s finished! 8 years of hard work had paid off! YES! I’m invincible,” Dr Ethan Peyton exclaimed, looking at the marvellous machine in front of him.
It was a rectangular metal box with lots of buttons. It looked simple, but in fact, it required a lot of technology. Working alone was a factor too. He wanted the credit all to himself and he couldn’t trust anyone to make it for him. Thus, he decided to do it by all by himself. It was a strenuous project but it was all worth it. Look at him, he was going to be the world’s lifesaver.
The Wishing Machine is going to be the world’s best technology, not even smartphones can beat it. Remember my name, world.
Dr Ethan Peyton.
