Summer's POV:
"Chug, chug, chug!" A series of people chanted. I tipped my head back and swallowed the remaining drops of alcohol. I saw the birthday party as an opportunity to forget the current situation. Tonight would be the night that I let lose and forget all my problems and worries.
The same process followed; many people would come up to me, wishing me a happy birthday and I would reply with a simple thanks.
Stumbling through the hallway, I tried to find Matty. Where the hell was he? Being in a drunken state made it much harder to see clearly; but I was definite I saw his mop of dark curls standing in a crowd of half naked people, talking to an intimidating man. Being the brave person that I am, I approached them.
"Wagwan white boy." I slurred, wrapping my arm around Matty's waist. Did I ever tell you how gorgeous I think he is? I mean, a dark, curly mop of hair that just..flops on his forehead and sits there looking perfect but has that 'I just woke up' look.
"Summer, go and dance. I'm busy." Matty spoke through gritted teeth.
"Jesus, what crawled up your arse and died?" I muttered.
"I heard that."
"Who's this lovely lady Matthew?" The intimidating man sneered. Seriously, they all need some shots and let loose a little.
"Summer Dobrev, glad to be at your acquaintance, Sir." My hand was held out, but clearly he was a degrading person and didn't know what shaking hands was. Hm, maybe he's more of a hugger?
I awkwardly brought my hand to my side and brought out the rude side of me. Two can play this game.
"Who the hell are you? If I remember correctly, this is my party and I don't want you here." Before he could protest, I pushed him out of the front door and slammed it in his face.
That'll show him.
"Erm Summer, that was my gangs rival and you just pissed him off."
"How was I supposed to know?"
"I told you to leave and you still stood there making a tit out of yourself. Seriously Summer, you're such a burden and make my life miserable." Matty sighed.
"I make your life miserable, you're the one who kidnapped me. So don't you even dare say this is my fault." I snapped. Who does he think he is?
By now, a small crowd had formed, watching the argument between me and Matty take place. It's not like they can help me though, I mean, they are criminals.
Huh, I guess I can cross off partying with criminals off my bucket list.
"Your Uncle should of killed you when he had the chance."
It's almost like the whole party had been silenced. The only sound I could hear was the sound of my very own heart.
"That's low, Matty. Even for you."
Before the unshed tears could fall, I pushed my way through the sweaty bodies and walked out. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction to see me cry. I knew that eventually he would find me because of a stupid tracker, but for now, I hope that he knows to stay away.
***
I rubbed my eyes with my scrunched up fist and continued stumbling down the country lane. By now, the sun had set meaning there wasn't much time until midnight. Absentmindedly, I began whistling quietly, in hopes to forget what had happened with Matty.
Stupid, evil, self-conceited twat.
There was a small alley coming up, which I think lead to small town. I still had no idea where I even am. My plan for tonight is to find a police station and report Matty and his cronies.
The sound of crickets filled my ears, causing my headache to pound even more. The cool, breezy air relaxed my body tremendously like breathing out a strong, intoxicating spliff. The trees in the near distance were hunched over in a continuous pattern, almost like a beautifully horrid archway. The atmosphere shifted drastically into a deafening silence.
snap
The snap of a twig brought me back to the real world. My heart started beating faster and faster by the second, I daren't look back, too scared to see what was behind me. I'm probably just paranoid and scared for no reason right now, maybe it's the wind or some animal, there doesn't seem to be anyone in sight around here. I quickened my pace, throwing my hair in my face hoping neither Matty or his friends didn't see me.
The forest is nearing and I couldn't wait to get in there hidden from anyone and anything. Once I stepped foot onto the slushy, muddy ground I let out a sigh of relief. I got even further into the mysterious and dangerously dark forest using the moonlight as a small beam of light, guiding my way through. I took a glance behind me. It looked like someone or something quickly moved or hid behind a tree. I shook my head knowing they are just my stupid thoughts.
I ventured even more into the forest, realising that this is leading me nowhere. What was I thinking, that the forest is some magical island that keeps all the twats AKA Matty away from me? I'm obviously too drunk to even know what my mind is capable of right now.
I stopped and took a long breath, feeling exhausted I sat down against a tree closing my eyes briefly. There were some kinds of sounds coming from a long distance, kind of like footsteps. I wish it's Matty, only because I want to be in the warmth of his arms, him singing me to sleep, putting my head down softly onto the pill-.
I've got to stop thinking about him, he is my kidnapper, well was my kidnapper. I was feeling so angry I lead out a long, screeching scream and fell into sobs.
My eyes jerked up to the feeling of someone stood in front of me. I could not believe what was happening. Quickly standing up and instantly regretting it as a pain shot through my leg, I must have pulled a muscle and was still drunk to even take notice of it.
Clutching onto the tree behind me I looked right into dark black eyes that were so familiar to me, the dark eyes that I dreaded the most.
"Hello there sweetheart." His husky voice whispered to me, the stench of cigarettes and alcohol filled my nose causing my eyes to water.
I tried to think of an escape plan in seconds before he roughly grabbed my arm and whisper shouted in my ear.
"When someone greets you, you do the same back!" His hand tightened around my arm letting a whimper jump from my throat.
"Sorry." I whimpered.
"Let's teach you a lesson." He sneered.
Before I had the chance to even comprehend what was happening, I heard the sound of a zipper.
I struggled and screamed, but this only resulted in me getting beaten. His fist met with my cheek bone and the son of a bitch had a ring on. I could feel the blood gushing from my face as I unintentionally fell limp in his hold.
