Matty's POV:
"How come you called yourself Stones instead of Healy?" Summer asked.
"Don't want people to become alarmed do we babe?"
She shook her head in reply and looked at her menu.
"Let's talk." I demanded. I didn't mean it to come out as harsh as it did, but it's a natural habit.
"About what?" Summer asked.
"How about we play 20 questions? It's where you as-"
"I know what 20 questions is Matty." Summer laughed.
How embarrassing. I swallowed down the uncommon feeling of embarrassment and began the game.
"What's your favourite colour?"
"Coral orange. What about you?" She replied.
"Dark blue, it's mysterious. If you were a super hero, what powers would you have and why?"
Summer thought about the question for a few seconds before answering.
"Definitely to fly because you'd always be free to roam around and nobody could take that privilege away from you."
The feeling of guilt over took my stomach making me feel nauseous. I can't tell if she said that on purpose or to make me feel bad, but it sure did work.
"Have you ever played a practical joke on someone and then it backfired on yourself?" Summer asked.
"Yeah." I laughed. "I was about 17 and me and George thought it would be funny to fake cutting someone's hair off. So we went around town with an app that makes noises. In this case, it was a hair clipper. We'd sneak up behind people and put on the sound and even had fake hair in our hands to make it more believable. We did it to this biker with a long pony tail and it totally backfired. He turned around and punched me in the nose before we could tell him it was a prank. I went to the hospital that night and found out that he broke my nose, just because of some silly prank. I don't regret a second of it though, his face was priceless." I laughed. The memory made me smile, instantly improving my night.
I love how Summer could bring a smile to my face whether it was intentional or not.
"That's quite a story." Summer laughed.
"Miss, are you ready to order?" The busty blonde waitress sneered, obnoxiously chewing her gum. It's almost like ever since Summer came into my life, 98% of the female population are revolting and unpleasant.
"Chicken pasta please." Summer ordered politely.
"Sir?" The waitress fluttered her heavy, fake eyelashes at me, whilst adjusting her tight shirt, making her breasts appear much bigger than they were. If anything, I was turned off. But for the sake of Summer and having a nice night out, I was polite and didn't let her affect me.
"I'll take a grilled meat special." I spoke.
Clearly taken back by my reaction, a small blush took over her face. She still remained chewing her gum obnoxiously, swaying her non-existent hips as she walked away. Did she not get it? I didn't find her attractive.
Continuing our game of 20 questions, I asked her the next question.
"What song do you hate?"
"Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepson, urgh. I cannot stand it. It's so urgh and annoying. Do you believe in karma?"
"I don't know, should I?" I taunted.
"Well, I don't know. But I think you should watch your back. Karma is a bitch." Summer threatened.
Before I could reply, the obnoxious waitress returned with our food. I'm surprised someone dressed like that was allowed in such a high-rated restaurant. Nonetheless, we thanked her and ate our meals in silence. I finished my food and waited patiently for Summer. She's such a slow eater. The clanking of Summer's cutlery and the slurps of my empty beer glass were the only noise heard in our secluded booth.
"I'm finished." Summer announced.
"Okay, do you want dessert?"
"As much as I want to take you up on that offer, my tummy is full and I'm scared that I might not be able to stand up and walk."
"Okay then, let's leave."
I enlaced my fingers with Summer's warm ones as we made our way towards the exit.
"Summer?! Is that you?!" A high-pitched voice screeched.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Summer whined.
"Are you okay? Let's leave before she causes commotion." I reasoned. I didn't fancy a trip to the police station because I was with Summer. Summer's missing persons agenda was still in place. Her parents haven't given up get, I'll respect them for that, but they really need to accept the fact that Summer's not coming back to them. Well, not on my watch.
"I'll be right back."
Before I could protest, she stormed to the red-haired and punched her straight in the nose. Well that escalated quickly. Summer quickly returned and grabbed my hand before dragging me out of the restaurant.
"God, she is such a bitchy slut. Urgh, I hate her, I hate her, I hate her, I hate her." Summer ranted.
"Hey, hey, come on now. She won't be bothering you anymore. I must admit, you've got quite a nice right hook."
Summer smiled and walked to the motorbike. My favourite babies.
The drive back home was comfortable to some degree, but I really wanted to hear her voice, even if if was just small talk.
"Tomorrow you'll be hanging out with George, Ross and Adam. Is that okay?" I asked. I needed to plan her kick-ass surprise party.
"Yeah, that's fine. And who's. Adam?"
"He's lives at the house with the others. Tall, slim, dark hair, stubble." I described
"Ohh, I know who you mean. You know what's weird?" She asked.
"What?"
"I've been at your house for nearly 3 weeks now and I hardly ever see the guys at the house."
"That's because they're either at work or they're visiting their girlfriends."
Shock took over Summer's face in a matter of seconds, making her wide-eyed.
"They have girlfriends?" She exclaimed.
"Yeah. What's so bad in that?" I was slightly disappointed in her reaction, but everybody deserves to be able to explain.
"It's not, it's a great thing. When will I be able to meet them?"
Wait, what?
I think it was obvious that I was shocked. That was unexpected. I expected her to say that criminals don't deserve love and that it's impossible for us to love, but she didn't. Wow.
"Hopefully soon." I replied.
An abnormally large smile took over her face before she punched the air.
"Yes!" She exclaimed.
"I'm so confused. Why are you so happy about this?" I was genuinely confused with her reaction, but nonetheless waited for her to reply.
"Do you know how annoying it is to be hanging around with males, no offence, but I need my girl time. I mean, how would you feel if you were surrounded by the opposite sex 24/7?" Summer questioned.
"Actually, don't answer that." She laughed. Laughing along with her, we walked into the mansion and slumped on the sofa.
