Summer's POV:
I groaned and shuffled in my sleep, refusing to open my eyes. I involuntarily fluttered my heavy eyelids open. I didn't want to face Matty especially after my bawling session. But you know what they say, if guys can't handle you at your worst, they don't deserve you at your best. This brought an abnormally large smile to my face. The smile was brought off my face when I remembered Tyler. Tyler was the only one who should make me feel like this.
I scurried of the sofa and immediately starting my search for a phone. I pulled open a series of drawers and cupboards, shuffling through the junk. The mess was scattered on the floor, but that didn't stop me.
"Woah, woah, woah, what are you doing?" Matty questioned. He pulled my hands away from the cupboards and forced eye-contact.
"I need a phone!" I exclaimed.
"You're not using a phone." Matty's voice held power and dominance, but I didn't back down.
"Please? I really need to make a phone call. I'll do anything. I won't call the police or anything, if that's what you're thinking. Please Matty? I won't ask for anything again."
"No." He snapped.
"Please? I really need to speak to him." I spoke. A stray tear fell down my face, but I refused to show weakness. I immediately wiped away the tear and looked harshly into his eyes. If looks could kill, he would be so dead.
"I.need.to.make.a.phone.call." I spoke through gritted teeth.
"If I gave you a phone, you'd call the police. I'm not stupid Summer."
"I won't! God dammit, it's really important. I'll do anything you want. Anything. Please?"
Couldn't he see how badly I needed to speak to Tyler? In a weird way, I was doing it for us.
Matty held an amused expression, my wrists still locked in his hands.
"Anything?"
I nodded vigorously. This is how bad I needed to make this phone call. Matty let go of my hands and reached inside his pocket for his phone.
"1 minute. If you have any longer, they'll be able to track the phone."
"Thank you so much." I rushed.
I quickly typed Tyler's phone number into the keypad and held the phone against my ear.
A few seconds later, Tyler's voice erupted through the phone.
"Tyler?" I whispered.
"Who's this?" His voice was hoarse as if he had just woken up. I stayed silent, I just couldn't believe it.
"Tyler, who's on the phone?" A high-pitched, annoying voice whined.
You've gotta be kidding me.
"Oh hey Tyler, it me. You know, your girlfriend. Well, should I say ex-girlfriend. I actually couldn't believe you'd sink that low."
"Wait. Summer? This isn't what it sounds like."
"Cut the bullshit Tyler. I don't want to speak to you ever again. I hope you and Shannon have a nice life."
"Are you crying?"
"No. Self conceited much?" I scoffed.
"Oh." He whispered.
"Yeah. Oh. Goodbye Tyler."
Before he could reply, I ended the call and smiled. I sighed a happily sigh and laughed.
"What a loser." I chuckled.
"Sounds like a prick." Matty said.
"You couldn't be anymore right. Here, catch."
I tossed Matty's phone in the air before he spun around, clapped and then caught the phone on his mop of unruly curls.
"Man, you've got skill." I confessed, whilst clapping. He took a mock bow and muttered 'thank-yous' to the imaginary crowd.
A smug expression took over Matty's face as he took a step closer to me.
"Now. About that anything you promised." I swear Matty persistently tapped his chin just to annoy me.
"What do you want?" I sighed. I may as well face the inevitable. Matty is prone to not dropping subjects easily.
"It's more of what I need, rather than what I want." Matty confessed.
My eyes widened a fraction and my heart began beating uncontrollably in my chest, causing Matty burst into laughter.
"It's nothing like that, I promise."
"Thank god for that." I muttered.
"But." Oh god.
"But?" I pressed on.
"But, I want you to go on a date with me." Matty said.
"That's it? Nothing else? What's the catch?" I bombarded him with questions. No way was he letting me off the hook that easily, it's just not Matty-like.
"There's no catch. Just go on a date with me." Matty spoke.
"Okay, who are you and what have you done with Matty?"
The sincerity in my voice made Matty chuckle.
"I can be a gentle-men when I want to be. I'm quite offended actually." He placed a hand on his heart and pouted slightly.
"Okay, deal. But if there's a catch, I swear to god, I'll..." I trailed off, not knowing what I'd actually do.
"You'll what?" Matty smirked. Damn you.
"I won't speak to you ever again or cook you any food. Simple as that." I smugly replied.
"You got me there princess." Matty laughed.
"I told you not to call me that Matthew."
"When did I ever take orders off a girl, let alone you." Matty scoffed.
"Just don't call me princess." I snapped. I barged past him, upstairs to my room and slammed the door behind me. Huffing, I jumped onto my bed face-first into the pillow and screamed.
Does he have to be so infuriating?
I tell you something, he's good at keeping people on their toes.
