first i wake up at around 8:00 and wonder what I'm doing with my life and roll out of bed. i throw on something i have worn maybe 300 times in a row and never washed and then realize i forgot to shower and am late for the school bus, or eh-em i mean "the torture chamber filled with 10 year old imbeciles and 16 year old druggies".

"hello Aurora" the bus lady says clearly after smoking about a pack. her breath smelled strongly of whiskey and camel cigarettes. "Hi" I honestly hate it when i am called aurora. I sound like a Disney princess. "just call me Auri" i walked down the middle of the bus. If i sat in the back i would be bombarded by loud "high on marijuana" drug addicts. but if i sat in the front i would be confronted by a 10 year old asking me to help him with his long division. so i sat right in the middle, next to a short blonde 12 year old who clearly had pink eye and a sinus infection.

today is the last week until summer. I step out of the bus and the bell rings for homeroom. I just sit there staring at someones shoes, or my pencil. completely zoning out everything else that is happening. I zone out through every subject until i get to lunch. I grab whatever slop is being served that day and pick at the baby corn that looks like bird food. then right when i was about to taking a daunting bite my best friend luke comes up to me and says "i gotcha", he handed me a protein bar, probably to keep me from vomiting on the cafeteria table. "thank god"

Just to fill you in Luke is a boy, but it isn't like that; we have known each other for over 9 years all because of a piece of spearmint gum. i was at the park sitting at the top of the slide contemplating if i should even go down it or not. Then Luke(who i didn't know whatsoever) ran up to me pushing me down. He felt so bad that he told me he would "bring me a present" i waited. Thinking i would get a unicorn or one of those pink barbie convertibles. but instead he brought me half a piece of spearmint gum. Then i realized he had half too. Now whenever we hangout (so everyday) he buys a pack of spearmint gum and breaks it in half. The only day that he didn't was the day his sister Tania died of terminal cancer. Tania was 7 years old and the sweetest person you could meet. it was very hard on his family, no one has touched her room since the incident

"well someone was hungry" he said with one eyebrow raised

"shut up you know I'm always hungry"

he helped me get up so i could crawl over to my next class, math. the only classes we had together were math and french. So as you could imagine the math and french teachers aren't fans of us. Now im not saying out school is like a version of mean girls but there is a "mean girl" and her name is Brooke Kappett. The most real life Regina George there is. Lets just say she is a scum sucking soul impaling no hearted beast that has a major crush on my bestfriend, and all the other guys in the school.

Now i will admit Luke is quite attractive, and Brooke, well Brooke. Looks like a living breathing barbie. Which honestly scares me to death because i have had the hugest crush on Luke for the past 3 years; and it would kill me to have him be with someone like Brooke, i swear she is like Satan's wife. Even her presence is like being held down with 500 pounds on your chest. Me and luke walked down the hallway trying not to be squished like bugs. "hey so want to meet after school by my car?" Luke said smiling like an idiot which was the cutest thing ever. "okay" i gave him a totally lopsided grin (not cute).

After praying for the last bell. it finally rang and i walked out to the school parking lot looking for luke's black pickup truck. I saw Brooke and Luke talking by his truck; this was usual fro Brooke. It normally ended with luke getting in his truck with me glaring at Brooke. I walked out and waved at luke. Brooke glared at me with that evil "im about to ruin your life" grin. I ran over to luke's car and looked over at Brooke. She grabbed luke kissing him right on the lips. I couldn't believe this was happening. It felt like my heart had just come up into my throat and was choking me to death; i couldn't help it. I started sobbing. i ran back my head spinning. "AURI!" Luke's voice and running footsteps was the last thing i heard. I tasted ametally blood in my mouth and a piercing pain throughout my body. then my eyes shut, and i blacked out.
