           TWO • TWINS REUNION

Kassandra's body desperately wanted to sleep some more - but the light coming in through the window deemed it impossible. She shook her head, as her feet slipped off the bed onto the warm floor. It was then that she decided to finally take a look around. The room itself was plain, and held a large mirror on the wall. It's ornate designing on the side of it was of a doe and a stag. She wondered secretly if it had anything to do with James' animagi form.

Her ears perked up as she heard her brothers voice floating up from downstairs. - The boy never really did know how to be quiet. Following his voice was James Potter. The arrogant Gryffindor boy that Kassandra had fallen in love with during their second year. However, the boy was completely oblivious. - Only ever noticing Lily Evans.

Kassandra pushed down the irritation that was beginning to rise, as she quickly got dressed. She hadn't been able to pack very much, but that was okay. At least she was done with her parents. Or should she just call them Orion and Walburga now? Grinning to herself, she headed out of the bedroom and down the stairs. Mostly just following the voices of her brother and his best mate.

"Kass?!" Both boys had completely ditched their conversation as their heads whipped around to the girl. Shock and enthusiasm laced in their voice, as they each ran for her, barreling into her and knocking her straight on the ground.

"Ow! Idiots!" She exclaimed, though not out of anger, as her arms wrapped around them. The three then proceeded to roll around on the floor.

It was definitely quite a sight to behold. Three almost sixteen year olds rolling hysterically on the floor.

"Sorry bout that, Spots!" James chuckled, as he untangled himself from her and stood up. A sheepish expression on his face.

Kassandra grinned, "it's quite all right, Prongs!" She saluted as she hopped to her feet as well, helping her twin stand up.

It made the girl smile quite contently as she heard her nickname roll off of James' tongue. It reminded her of how close she was with all of the boys, her twin, James, peter, and Remus. For they all became illegal animagi the previous year in order to be able to help Remus during his monthly transformations, due to his lycanthropy condition. To say she was surprised when she turned into a Jaguar, was an understatement. She had giggled quite uncontrollably when Sirius was deemed a shaggy black dog, James a stag, and Peter a Rat. She deemed it quite fitting, to be honest.

The happiness she felt weighed heavy inside of her, but it soon dwindled slightly as she saw the questioning look in Sirius' eyes. She knew he must know what had happened, they both had to of, otherwise she would have not shown up in the dead of night to James' home. She would have not seen the two until they boarded the Hogwarts express. But alas, she was here, and they knew. But she didn't want to talk about it just yet. She wanted to savor the feeling of happiness for a little while longer before she delves into the secrets she's tried so hard to keep. Giving him a look that signaled they'd talk about it later, the topic was dropped. Thankfully, at least for the moment.

"So, , Prongs here has thought of more ways to try to get his Lily flower to give him a chance," Sirius said as he barked with laughter.

"Oh sod off, Padfoot!" James replied, and thus began an argument between the two males.

However, neither boys noticed how Kassandra did not utter a sound. For she was confused herself, she couldn't understand why her chest seemingly tightened, and why for a moment it felt as if she couldn't even breathe. She had never had an issue with James pursuing Lily Evans before, in fact she had encouraged it many times. Despite being head over heels for him. Lily was a nice enough girl, but she hardly gave James a chance due to her friendship with Severus Snape, a Slytherin boy who was worse than James ever could be. Still, Kassandra could not place the way she was feeling. Shrugging, she pushed it to the back of her mind, chalking it up to the after affects of the Cruciatus Curse she was placed under the night before, she turned her attention back to the boys.

"Well, how does Ickle prongsie think he can get Lily to go out with him then?" Kassandra snickered, trying her best at making her voice come out with an amused tone. It worked, thankfully to the Black's ways of not giving things away.

"I told Padfoot I was going to write her a ballad," James grumbled.

Kassandra burst into a fit of laughter alongside her twin brother, as she looked up at James. Her eyes crinkling with amusement despite how she originally felt about the mention of Lily Evans. James rolled his eyes at the Black siblings antics, before he himself chuckled.

"All right, all right. I get it, it's a stupid idea."

"No, it's great really!" Sirius replied, while still laughing which didn't seem to make James convinced.

Kassandra stopped laughing as she sent James a smile, "no James, it's not stupid at all. I would find it sweet if someone actually wrote me a ballad."

"You would?" Asked both Sirius and James incredulously.

"Yes?" Kassandra stated it as a question, not because she was questioning her statement, but because she was slightly embarrassed now.

"That's nice, Kassie. Perhaps somebody will write you one," James shrugged.

"The bloody hell they will!" Sirius interrupted, highly protective of his twin sister.

Kassandra giggled, "Don't have a heart attack there, Siri! I'm only interested in quidditch. Not to worry!"

  "Good!" Exclaimed Sirius.

Kassandra shook her head affectionately, before she leaned her head back on James' lap, seeing as he was closer than her twin was at the time. She felt James absentmindedly play with her hair, which wasn't unusual at all, they've done this countless of times in the platonic sense.

She was the Keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and James was a chaser. They were the only two in their group of friends to be on the Quidditch team, and they both were immensely proud. It was the one thing Kassandra could take pride in, and that was her ability in keeping the other teams from scoring much. They didn't win every match, but she enjoyed the game just the same.

And that was how the three spent the majority of the rest of the summer, making jokes, making plans, and simply being a family and Kassandra's feelings were repressed to the back of her mind. How long that would last, only time will tell.
