CHAPTER EIGHT; PRANK WARS
(PART ONE)
CONSIDERING THIS WAS THEIR LAST YEAR, the marauders all decided they'd want to go out with a bang. Usually pranking was directed at Slytherins or even unsuspecting students, but never once had they thought up the idea to prank each other. But courtesy to Kassandra, she had thought up a huge plan involving a prank war. They would be split up into two groups among themselves. In the first group, it was Kassandra, Peter, and Remus. In the second group, it was James, Sirius, and Lily. Yes, Kassandra was surprised as well about Lily joining, but she definitely did not object to it. She didn't come up with the teams, either, James did.
They were aloud a day to think up anything they'd like to do. The prank war could all be over within a day, or even several weeks, they all had decided. Smirking, Kassandra pulled Remus and Peter to the side so they could plan together. Peter had insisted on being the one to get them snacks, it was odd, but again, something odd has been going on with Peter ever since the start of the year, and she never questioned it.
"So, boys, what should we do?" Kassandra asked, already having something in mind to prank her oh so brilliant boyfriend.
Remus bit his lip in concentration (which Kassandra found slightly adorable, and then she almost face palmed for even thinking so in the first place.)
"I don't know, Kass," Remus replied. "For Sirius, one of us could take poly juice potion, and become Kayla?" He wriggled his eyebrows.
Kassandra giggled, "Is my eyes deceiving me? Is the Remus John Lupin suggesting we break, oh, i don't know, over a hundred rules?"
Remus stuck his tongue out at her, "Maybe, or maybe I'm someone in disguise."
She laughed again, "Alright, Lupin, don't get sassy with me." She looked at him, "but how will we come up with already brewed polyjuice potion? It takes a month to brew.."
"Leave that to me. I'm not becoming Kayla, though."
"No, I wouldn't ask you too. He may be my brother, but I'll do it. I don't have to kiss him," Kassandra shrugged.
Kassandra had to admit, it would be slightly thrilling to break over a hundred school rules again. Yes, the mauraders break lots of rules, like becoming illegal Animagi for instance, but this was completely new and different. And, Kassandra thoroughly enjoyed it, especially since it came from Remus. The more level headed one of the group, so for him to suggest such a thing, it was almost camera worthy.
"For Lily, I was thinking that perhaps we could transfigure Lucas temporarily into a dog, and gift him to her," Kassandra shrugged. "Wait, now that I'm saying that aloud it sounds stupid." She pouted.
"No, it doesn't sound stupid at all, love," Remus replied. "Can I add a suggestion?"
"'Course."
(Love? Did he just call me love?)
Stop, don't read too much into it. He's your best friend.
Her mind continued to race, despite her being with James. She couldn't help but wonder if her relationship with James was purely because they both couldn't have who the truly wanted, or if their relationship was real. It was hard differentiating between real love and friendships, sometimes.
"We could transfigure lucas as a dog, as you said," Remus began. "But, we should leave little notes that would freak Lily out until she finds him," he finished with a smirk.
"Moony, you are a genius."
"I know," he winked.
"As for James...."

THE SECOND GROUP, was conspiring as well, but Sirius knew there was something seriously (Siriusly, okay no time for puns, Sirius.) wrong with the way James chose the teams. Now, he's not complaining with being teamed up with James, not at all, but he had thought James would have chosen his girlfriend to be on the team with him. Instead, he chose Lily bloody Evans. The red head and his best mate has been overly friendly towards each other, which wouldn't have been weird considering they were all friends now, but the way Lily looked at him and the way James looked at her, it didn't appear like friendship to Sirius.
And that will be wrong, because James is dating Sirius' twin sister.
But, Lily was smart. In the record amount of time they had been thinking of pranks, Lily had already managed to think up a prank for all of the first group; Kassandra, Remus, and Peter. Sirius was actually impressed, which he made it known, and then he ended up getting whacked on the head by Lily, thinking that Sirius had gone mental. Which who knows, he probably has.
Next thing Sirius knew, he was being tapped on the shoulder. A little confused, he turned around to see Kayla.
"Young? What are you doing here?" Sirius questioned.
"I.. I came looking for you," said Kayla, or at least that's who Sirius thinks it is. "Can we talk?"
"Oooh," James echoed in the background, as he scooted closer to Lily.
Sirius looked at Kayla, to see that she flinched slightly, but he only believed that it was due to James' teasing.
"Bugger off, Prongs," said Sirius, as he nodded his head towards Kayla.
Leading her towards a secluded area, he then turned towards her. He was confused about why she'd possibly need to speak with him, but he decided not to rush her.
"I.. I love you," Kayla said. "And I don't deny myself the pleasure of saying true things.."
She started out serious, but then she began to laugh towards the end. Quoting the fault in our stars, which made Sirius furrow his eyebrows. In the second it took her to say it, she began to transform, into.. into his sister???
"What the bloody hell?" Sirius stared wide eyed. "Polyjuice potion? Really, Kassandra?" Eyes narrowing in realization. "That's why you flinched! James scooted closer to Lily, oh Merlin!"
Kassandra bursted into giggles, "you should have seen your face!" And then she frowned, "Er— yeah.. you saw that? I gotta go, see ya later! Love you bro!"
And she walked away before Sirius could realize that was the first time she'd ever told him she loved him out loud.
