CHAPTER TEN: PRANK WARS

         (PART THREE.)

WORRY CONSTANTLY WEIGHED ON HIS MIND, he knew he should have told Lily no about the appearance prank they pulled on Kassandra. His girlfriend was already insecure about her appearance way before the prank, and James never hated himself more. She never came down to dinner last night, and she wasn't at breakfast today, either. He couldn't help but agree with the prank the previous night though, it was a good idea, but perhaps they shouldn't have used it on Kassandra. He was slightly paranoid, as well. He has yet to receive a prank, and he knew that must mean his will be bad.

Sighing, he asked around if anyone had seen Kassandra, but nobody appeared to have seen her at all. It was highly unusual, because even Lily had said she hadn't been in the dorm when they woke up this morning. It made him all the more paranoid, because he knew his prank must be close. Everyone else has already been pranked.

He should have known something would have happened by the time he arrived to the potions classroom, walking inside under the archway for the door, he was doused in something, slimy and sticky. Groaning, he looked down to see his whole body was dyed green and silver. Slytherin colors, ew. Laughter could be heard all around him, and it only made his self confidence dwindle. Though he really couldn't be angry, after all, he had been the one to disfigure his own girlfriends appearance. He deserved this, and possibly even more, which he didn't realize was actually going to happen.

After that, his potion had blown up EVERYWHERE. It had looked like a murder scene. Plus, he had tripped on his way to go to Madame Pomfrey's, and by the end of the day he was covered in so much green, silver, and a stinky smell that could only mean he got hit with lots of dungbombs. He officially hated this prank war, and wondered why he ever agreed to it to begin with.

SATISFACTION FILLED HER, as she finally finished her prank on her boyfriend. She had a feeling that her, Remus, and Peter had won the prank war. After all, they had come up with some pretty good pranks, but her prank on James was her absolute favorite. He deserved more, in her opinion, but she was satisfied with how it had turned out. Anymore would have ruined it, she thinks.

"Nice prank, Kassandra!" shouted one of the Prewett Twins, Fabian.

"Thanks, Fabian!" said Kassandra with a bright smile.

"I think it's wonderful you can tell us apart," he replied with a wink.

Kassandra chuckled, before waving goodbye, and headed off towards the Gryffindor common room. She wasn't sure how to feel, when she walked in to see James talking to Lily, but she shrugged it off. They were all friends, weren't they? Sighing, she made her way over to Remus, who sat with a book perched on his lap, reading.

"Hey, Moony!" Kassandra greeted brightly. "What are you reading?"

"A muggle book called pride and prejudice," Remus admitted, a small smile on his face as he looked up at her.

Kassandra smiled, "that's cool, Moony, is it good?"

"It's definitely better than a lot of books I've read. I could lend it to you once I'm finished?"

    "I'd like that."

The rest of the evening, Kassandra spent it in silence sitting next to Remus while he read his book. Watching James and Lily slightly out of the corner of her eyes. She wouldn't admit it, but she was highly jealous, and even slightly suspicious.
