~chapter fifteen~

Josie's p.o.v:

We head out of the flat. I can see that Jack is still shaken up about the whole situation. For a good 5 minutes, we are just jogging in silence. Every so often he will look at me and then straight back at the floor. I have stopped a few times to see how long it takes him to realize I have gone. He just keeps running for a bit until he try's to look at me and then he turns around and smiles jogging backwards to meet me again. Randomly my shoe lace comes undone. I cough telling him I am stopping and he pauses staring at me.

Jack: you okay Jose?

I nod: shoe lace...

I point at my foot and bend down to tie it. Jack smiles and sits down on a bench about two steps away.

me: I'm ready to go again!!

Jack sets off and I run to catch up with him. I jump on his back to slow him down, he laughs and grabs my legs so I don't fall.

Jack: Josie... your okay, right?

I shake my head: hey! stop... okay!? I am fine... there is nothing I can do about it now!

he drops me and spins around so he is looking at me, he places his hands on my shoulders and stares into my eyes, I try to break eye contact and look at the floor instead but he gently moves my chin up.

Jack: Josie! you know there is something you can do about it!

I tilt my head: doesn't mean I want to do it Jack! I can barely remember anything about the night! other then me telling him to sto...

Jack interrupts: okay! and I understand that but... you know he raped you...

me: don't say it outloud you asshole!!

I push his hands of my shoulders and turn around. He knows he has hurt me by saying that.

Jack: sorry...

I didn't respond. I was to busy watching something happening down the road.

Jack: Josie...

me: shush!

I point to a obviously drunk girl and a sober guy walking along the pavement.

girl: let me go home please...

the guy smirks: of course babe... we will just take a little detour to my place. okay?

girl: no I want to go home!

the guy forces her into a car and I bolt it down the street.

me: let her fucking go!

the dude just laughs at me! that got me mad

me: did you hear me you little dick! let her go!

guy: mind your own business darling! I am taking her home!

me: I heard you fucking conversation mate! you are going back to your place with a drunk girl!

the guy pushes me back: she is my girlfriend! so shut it!!

the girl try's to climb out of the car but he pushes her back in.

me: hey... is this your boyfriend?

she shakes her head. I am ready to bite this dudes head off.

me: ooo... lying to me mate! that isn't a good idea! let her go!

he laughs: or what?

I scowl: I will ring the fucking police!

guy: and who are they gonna believe me? or a drunk girl?

I shake my head: LEAVE!

guy: I think I am gonna stay here for now!

suddenly I feel a arm go over my shoulder. its Jack!

Jack: I would leave mate! now! because I have this whole thing on camera! and they may not believe a "drunk girl"! but raw footage of you FORCING her into your car... I think they might believe that!

the guy shrugs: WOAH! calm down mate! since when are you apart of this!?

Jack: since my friend is a part of it!

he holds his hand out for the girl and she jumps up running into his arms.

girl: thankyou!

guy: you know her?

Jack nods his head. even though he clearly doesn't. he raps both of his arms around her to make sure he cant get to her anymore.

guy: what's her name then?

Jack: YOU PROBABLY DONT EVEN KNOW IT! YOU PROBABLY SAW HER DRUNK AND THOUGHT YOU COULD JUST TAKE HER HOME! SO SHUT UP! AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION HER NAME IS BECKY!!

the girl nods when he says "her name" to make it seem like they know each other.

the guys scoffs and walks away. Jack doesn't let go of the girl until the guy has gone.

girl: thankyou! my names Chloe by the way!

Jack: its fine! do you want us to take you home Chloe?

she shakes her head and then looks at me.

Chloe: AND thankyou!! if you weren't here god knows what would have happened! you guys are angels! you are perfect together!

I shake my head: we're not a....

Jack interrupts:... couple... we broke up... a while ago...

Chloe: oh crap! sorry! I didn't mean to... its just you seem so happy together...

I hug her: no its fine! people make mistakes! but are you sure you want to go home alone! me or Jack can take you!

she nods: I will be fine... but can you...

she points at me: Josie... my names Josie!

Chloe:... Josie! walk with me to the train station! I will be fine from there!

I nod and wave at Jack.

10 minutes later

Josie's p.o.v:

me and Chloe don't speak for most of the walk. We are around 5 minutes away when she stops.

Chloe: sorry... if I made it awkward back there... its just... I assumed... he put his arm around you and.... OMG I am such a bitch!

I shake my head: No! No... god no! your not a bitch! it was a mistake! And people make that mistake all the time! Trust me it is fine!

Chloe: are you sure?

I nod: yes!

she smiles and hugs me again: i am so sorry! but can I ask you something?

I nod.

Chloe: why did you break up with him if you are so close?

me:... I mean we weren't always this close... I left for nine months... before i left we were " a thing" and then he asked me out! I said yes... but the day before I left he went out... didn't get drunk... but he willingly... he cheated on me... I couldn't really stay with him after that... so we broke up! And a few days ago I come back... he's with the girl he cheated on me with... wow okay never said that out loud...
I can feel tears welling up in my eyes and so I quickly change the subject: why'd you ask?
Chloe shrugs. I can tell she had an answer but she didn't want to say it anymore instead she says: so do you have a boyfriend now?
I nod
Chloe: you love him as much as you love jack?
Woah am I getting therapy from a drunk girl?
Me: I don't even know if I loved jack!
She is taken back by what I said.
Chloe: well he clearly loves you!
She looks at the platform: ooo! That's my train got to go!
Me: wait! What do you mean he clearly loves me!!
It's to late though because she is already on the train
Me: shit!
