~chapter twenty one~

Josie's p.o.v:
I open the door quietly and sigh as I close it.
Me: hello?
It echoes through the house and I hear feet rushing towards me.
Sammy: JOSIE!!!
He runs up to me and I pick him up swirling him around and placing a kiss on his cheek as he wipes it off in disgust. I laugh.
Me: hi little one! Where is the other one?
Sammy laughs and points to the living room.
Mum: Sammy who's there?
I laugh: missed you too mum!
She turns around and smiles hopping out of her seat and opening her arms. I walk into them and hold her tight.
Shaun: Josie!
Me: Shaun!
Shaun: why are you here?
Me: because I live here?
Shaun giggles: I know that! But you aren't meant to be back for another month or so!
Me: I missed you too much! I had to come back!
I say opening my arms and he runs into them. I squeeze him.
Shaun: I can't breathe!
I wink: that's the point!
Shaun stomps his foot and scowls at me before laughing.
Mum: right I know Josie has just got here! But you two need to get to bed...
They shake their heads: no! Please....
I smile: go to bed guys... or imma kiss you!
I pout and chase them into their room.
Me: night!
Sammy: night Josie!!
Shaun: night sis!!
I roll my eyes and hug them both before closing the door and going back into the living room, where mum is still standing there.
Mum: Jose... why are you back! You were meant to be staying with rye!
I nod: I know but I missed you and the boys to much! I might go back! But for now... can I stay!
She rolls her eyes: do you actually think I am going to let you go again now you are back after  nearly a year!?
I shake my head: I don't know!
She hugs me and then walks into her room: night my little girl!
I smile: night mum!
I walk into my old room which has since been changed to Sammy and Shaun's gaming room. I sigh and start to look for some comfy clothes in my dresser which is still in the corner of the room. I slip onto the sofa and sigh, pulling the blanket over my head. My phone has not stopped pinging ever since I got home, I decide that I should really tell rye, and answer some of the messages, I have also been off social media for a few days and I have been getting lots of dms and concerned messages. I have a look at my Instagram and an account catches my eye and I smile.
josiecantwrll: hey babe are you okay! How's Harv?
I sigh: hey! Yeah I am fine, I was just taking a break... me and Harv... are too...
josiecantwrll: OMG YOU REPLIED!! And that's good... what do you mean you and Harv are too?
Me: we aren't really together anymore...
josiecantwrll: oh... why not?
Me: I guess it just wasn't working... but thanks for your concern...
josiecantwrll: no problem hope you and Harv work things out!
Me: same... 💞
josiecantwrll: 💞
I smile and post a selfie on my story with the caption: I am back peeps! Sorry I was gone for a while! I am home now! Some family time is well needed! 💞
A few minutes after that I have a few dms:
One from Harvey
One from one of the boys... I don't know who?
And Ellie.
I open Ellies:
Elliexe: babe what do you mean you are home?!?
Me: shit I forgot to tell you...
Elliexe: well tell me now then!!!
Me: I went home...
Elliexe: why? Does rye know? Why didn't you tell me?!
Me: I couldn't stay any longer! And NO he doesn't! You were asleep I didn't want to wake you!
Elliexe: WELL YOU COULD HAVE!!
Me: I AM SORRY!
Elliexe: okay! Are you okay?
Me: I am fine now yes!
Elliexe: good! Alright night babe!
Me: night!
I always laugh when Ellie messages me! She always makes me smile. I decide I better have a look which one of the boys messaged me...
Roadtriptv: hey! Why you at home?- rye
Me: because I wanted to go home?!
Roadtriptv: and why haven't you been answering ANYONES calls?
Me: because I don't want to!
Roadtriptv: and the real reason?
Me: that is rye... drop it okay!
Roadtriptv: no! I am your brother! You're meant to tell me!
Me: I don't have to! Just go to sleep okay!
Roadtriptv: no!
Me: night Rye!
Roadtriptv: night...
I sigh and then sit up in leaning on the arm of the sofa. I see someone standing in the doorway and tilt my head.
Me: you mister are meant to be in bed...
Sammy: and you are meant to be with rye... and yet your not...
Me: touché!
He giggles: I can't sleep...
I open up my arms and he sits down next to me: Josie are you okay! You would never come home early?
I tilt my head: I am fine Sherlock! Just fine...
He smiles at me: you don't have to lie to me...
Me: Sammy I am fine! You don't have to look after me!
Sammy: I know you are meant to look after me!
I smile: yes! So go to sleep!
Sammy: I can't! I had a nightmare...
I hold him close and kiss his head: you wanna stay with me?
He nods: please?
I get off the sofa and he lies down, I grab another set of pillows and a cover and sit on the other sofa.
Sammy: Josie...
Me: yes...
Sammy: can you sing to me?
I shake my head: aren't you too old for that?
Sammy grins: no! Please!
Me: I can't sing... it's rye who can
Sammy: I know! But please!
I roll my eyes and start humming the tune to stranger. He closes his eyes and with in minutes he is asleep. I kiss his forehead and climb onto the sofa. Picking up my phone.
Harvey💔: Josie?
Harvey💔: Jose?
Harvey💔: please answer me...
I roll my eyes and sigh
Me: what!
Harvey💔: why did you leave?
Me: why do you care?
Harvey💔: because I love you...
Me: let me quote you here "obviously not enough"!
Harvey💔: please... I miss you!
Me: why should I forgive you?
Harvey💔: because I love you and you are the best thing in my life!
Me: how can I trust you Harv? How do I know you are telling the truth? How can I trust you when you never trusted me!
Harvey💔: you can't... just please?
Me: move on Harv... it's the best for the both of us!
Harvey💔: no! Josie please...
Me: Harvey! I love you! Okay but I can't right now!
Harvey💔: I will wait!
Me: no you won't! Bye Harv...
Harvey💔: bye? Why bye?
Me: I am going to block you...
Harvey💔: why?
Me: so you can move on! Bye! Okay! Bye...
I start to shake as I click block number, I try not to cry so I don't wake Sammy up. Instead I just cover my mouth and blink quickly holding back tears. I shouldn't regret anything! But I regret everything!

The next morning:
Josie's p.o.v:
I wake up with Sammy and Shaun shaking me: JOSIE WAKE UP!
I groan: what time is it!?
Sammy: time for you to get up you're lazy!
Me: extremely lazy! Let me sleep!
Shaun: it's 11:30! Get up! Mum has gone to the shops and has left you in charge! So you need to get up!!
I roll over and sigh: okay go into the kitchen I will be out in a minute!
They both nod and run out of the room.
I put my hair into a messy bun and put on some high waisted jeans, a crop top, a hoodie and my vans and then walk into the kitchen where the boys are sitting at the table.
Me: morning!
They both smile
Me: have you two had breakfast?
They shake their heads
Me: do you want I speak to me?
Sammy: someone is at the door!
Me: and you have just let the out there!
Shaun: we didn't want to let them in...
Me: why not?
Sammy: because they wanted to see you!
Me: who is it?
Shaun: jack!
Me: you should have just told him to leave!
Sammy looks at Shaun: I told you!!
I roll my eyes: stay here!
I walk out of the kitchen and to the door. I sigh before opening it and see Jack leaning against the wall.
I lean against the door frame and cross my arms: what do you want!
Jack: so you are here!
Me: no! I am in narnia! Why are you here?
Jack: I wanted to speak to you...
Me: congratulations you have! Now you can leave!
I try to shut the door, but he pushes it back open.
Jack: can I come in?
Me: no!
Jack raises his eyebrows and I roll my eyes: fine don't say anything to me! I need to make the boys breakfast!
He nods and walks in behind me. When we get into the kitchen Sammy and Shaun look up and smile innocently at Jack.
Jack: morning boys...
Sammy: morning
Shaun: morning!
I cross my arms: what do you two want to eat?
They both shrug
Me: pancakes?
They both grin and nod their heads: please!
I nod and then look at Jack: you can sit you know!
He nods and sits down with the boys.
I start cooking the pancakes and the whole room is silent. I swizzle around after i have made a stack of them, there is twelve, three for Sammy, three for Shaun, three for me and extra... I know I actually made some for jack... I didn't mean to I am just used to it!
I place the plate down and take out four more plates and some sugar, lemon juice, chocolate sauce and syrup.
Me: eat up!
I place a plate down in front of both of the twins end they both grab a pancake. Adding what ever they felt like to the top. I smile and sit down on the opposite side of the table after putting a plate in front of jack. He looks at me and smirks.
Jack: what's this for?
I roll my eyes: you must be hungry! And I was making food anyway so just eat! Okay?
He nods and grabs a pancake putting everything on it.
I take one and put some sugar onto it and rolling it up. Jack looks at me.
Jack: what are you doing?
I glare at him: eating my pancake... why?
Jack: like that?
The boys giggle.
Sammy: she has always done them like that... it's them quicker!
Shaun: yeah! And then she can get another one!
I nod and then carry on eating. I finish mine while the boys have gotten about halfway. I smirk and put my plate in the dishwasher.
Sammy: you only had one?
I nod: yeah! Well done Sammy you can count!
I put my hand in his hair and ruffle it about. He scowls and puts another mouthful into his mouth.
Shaun: where are you going?
I cross my arms: into the living room...
Jacks eyes follow me as I walk out and round the corner.

Jacks p.o.v:
Josie walks out the room and I am left with the twins, they both stare at me, as I put the last piece of my pancake into my mouth.
Sammy: what's up with you two?
I shrug: why do you care?
Shaun: cos she is our big sister! She takes care of us! So we do the same!
That makes me smile.
Sammy: is she upset?
Me: I don't know
That's a lie... she definitely is!
Shaun squints: are you sure!
I nod
Sammy: why did you come here then?
Me: are you two detectives now?
Shaun: when our sister is upset yeah! Yeah we are!!
I nod and stand up: imma go check on her! You two keep eating okay?
Sammy: don't have to tell us twice!
They both grab another pancake and I walk into the living room where Josie is sat, legs crossed in the sofa. Her eyes are glued to her phone screen and she is halfheartedly smiling.
Me: what are you doing?
She looks up from her phone and scowls: messaging Ellie...
I smile: what is she saying?
She rolls her eyes: how she thinks she is a cat!
Me: really?
She nods: want to check?
I shake my head knowing she was joking.
Me: can we talk...
Josie: that's what we are doing right now isn't it?!
I laugh: about last night...
I sit on the sofa and she shuffles further away.
Josie: what is there to say... you were a dick... me and Harv broke up! You got what you wanted! Now can you leave?!
I shake my head: that's not what I wanted!
Josie: then what is? Because if it wasn't to hurt me or Harv? What was it all about!?
Me: you! It was about you! It's always been about you Josie! I love you!
Josie: lies!
Me: buts it's not...
Josie gets up and walks towards the door.
I follow her: Josie come on please...
Josie: just go please...
I roll my eyes: no!
Josie opens the front door and gestures for me to walk out: leave...
I shake my head!
Josie: JUST LEAVE ME!
Me: I CANT!
Josie shakes her head: bull shit! You have done it once just do it again!
I look at the ground and walk out the door: I have a feeling we aren't talking about leaving the house anymore...
She shakes her head: I never was...
I mumble: oh
Before she shuts the door. I hear her hit the door before walking off.
