Chapter 2.0: Disappearance

At the distance... it's pitch black once again...

"Hello, Ace" said a voice from a distance.

Ace looked around but it's so dark.

But, someone suddenly lit up a bonfire. Ace asked out of curiosity.

"Who are you?"

"My name's Lance, but people call me Rogue. Come, sit here"

Ace sat down with him, facing the bonfire.

"Are you the spirit that possessed me?"

"Yes I am..."

"But why me?"

Lance glanced at Ace.

"Because you, my young lad, have the potential to control this curse that was given to me and will use it for the greater good."

"He's right." A sudden voice once again from a distance.

The person revealed himself, and it was Shade.

"You're here too?!" Ace said in surprised.

"Of course I am, this is the void. We are all here for a reason." He sat down with Ace and Rogue.

"And what that reason may be?" Ace asked.

Rogue and Shade glanced at Ace.

"To make you even stronger" said Shade.

"What do you mean by that?" Ace.

"By sacrificing ourselves here, our abilities will be absorbed by you" Rogue.

"But, there is a catch" said Shade.

"And what's that?" Ace asked.

Shade has a serious look on his face.

"You need to find the Empress of death" said Shade.

Ace was confused.

"Because she is the only one that can make you stronger" said Rogue.

All of the sudden, the bonfire went out and Ace woke up.

It's morning and Ace was sitting in the bench.

And at his lap, he saw Julie who was sleeping.

Ace: That's right.... she was really depressed on what happened yesterday.

After Ash sacrified himself to defeat Caesar, the council soldiers finally made it to the sky continent to arrest the rest of the enemies and to look out for the injured ones.

Ace took off his jacket and use it a substitute pillow for Julie.

As Ace walks around thinking about what Rogue and Shade was talking about finding the "Empress of Death".

He saw at the corner, Accel who was talking to someone.

Ace saw it was a hologram communicator.

"I have successfully had all of the books in my custody" said Accel.

"Good work, General "Accel"." Said the girl from the communicator.

Ace suddenly remembered that that was the same girl he saw back then who was looking at cakes at the cake shop, who also happened to disappeared out of knowhere.

Ace just continued on eavesdropping.

"Aren't you gonna go back yet, sir?" Said the girl.

"I'll stay here for a couple more minutes, I'm gonna see how "they" are doing" said Accel.

"Aye, sir!" Said the girl as she logged out from their conversation.

"You know it's not good to listen to someone's conversation, Ace" said Accel.

"You got me" said Ace as he reveals himself.

"So, what brings you here to this area" said Accel.

"N-Nothing, I was just passing by when I heard you talking to someone" said Ace.

Accel sat down on the ground.

"So.. what do you want to know" said Accel.

"What?" Ace.

"I know that you want to ask a couple of questions for me. So go ahead and ask." said Accel.

Ace suddenly has a serious look on his face.

"Who are you really? Where are you from? Why do you want to have the books? And mostly, why did you screamed "Mom" at Julie." Ace.

"I am just a someone who is searching for something. Where I from is classified. The books are gonna be one of the biggest threats if it is left alone. And the last part..."

"The last part...?"

"She just reminds me of my late mother.. that's all. Are you satisfied now?" said Accel.

"Yeah, a little bit" Ace.

Accel's watch suddenly beeps.

"Guess it's time for me to go. I get a feeling you'll see me someday." said Accel.

Accel disappeared in thin air.

Accel came back from headquarters successfully.

"Welcome back, sir! So, how's the mission?" Said the girl.

Accel took out a photo from his pocket, containing a picture of him as a kid with Julie.

"It was indeed nostalgic" Accel replied.

After that, the council wants to meet Accel in person to thank him for his bravery against Caesar, but he disappeared when that was about to happen.

Ace: What a mysterious guy...
