malia's pov

i could feel my heart beat all the way to my head.

grayson accidentally sped the yellow light, not being patient to get to the hospital.

"grayson. slow down i don't want you to get a ticket or get in a crash," i said worryingly while my breath hitches.

"malia. i can't slow down," he said like he's forced to rush to the hospital.

"why?" i asked, being nervous about what his answer is going to be.

"she doesn't have much time," he answered quietly, making my heart pound out of my chest.

she's dying.

how the fuck did i not know she was dying.

everything feels like it's in slow-motion, making me irritated to get to the hospital faster.

another light was ahead of us.

it turned yellow when grayson wasn't even close to passing under the light.

"no. grayson," i said quietly, warning him not to run it.

"too bad," he said carelessly while running the red light.

he doesn't care about anything right now.

he just cares about me to getting to my mom.

"we are almost there. don't worry," he said assuringly as i spotted the hospital ahead of us.

i'm not okay.

i don't want to lose my mom.
i want to see my mom.
i want to hug her.

no, please, no.

the next thing i know, grayson parked quickly in the nearest spot.

i pulled the door handle back aggressively, almost thinking that i technically broke it.

my feet kicked the door open, thankfully there was no car besides me.

i jumped out and slammed the door shut behind me, running to the other side immediately.

grayson locked the car, running after me as i sprinted into the hospital.

"where's my mom!?" i turned back to grayson and shouted in pain, on the verge of crying.

"here, follow me fast," he said while sprinting in front of me, leading me.

i felt weak.
i felt slow.
i don't feel like i was going fast enough.

but my heart is racing faster than ever.

not wanting to see what i terrify to see.

we ran to the corner and turned and we both got stopped by some nurses.
