Sun and Moon

The two were like the moon and the sun
The things they couldn't outrun
One with hair as black as night
The others golden like fiery light

The first had a dark side
That no one could hide
Where the stars wouldn't shine
The moon couldn't align

She was colder than the winter air
Her glistening tear marked stare
The twinkle of her big eyes
Her midnight silent lies

The second was a fiery sight
Her anger burning bright
Her voice cheery like a summer day
Keeping the unknown away

A guiding path for those lost
A reminder of the earth's cost
A deadly beautiful sight
Making sure everyone was behaving right

Maybe they could've understood each other
Maybe they wouldn't have suffered
But the sun and moon are not meant to meet
They walk on two different sides of the street
