Look around town
Look at the frowns
Look closer
Don't get colder
See the girl dressed in black
The one who you called fat
She hasn't eaten in three days
Trying to fit in size two ways
See the boy with long sleeves
The one who always leaves
He's worried about becoming
His father who's nothing
See the smiling girl
Her hair is pinned in curls
She just found out her brother died
Representing our countries pride
See the boy with the scarred wrists
He doesn't want to exist
He's seen the red liquid run
And won't stop until he's done
See the girl with her head down
She's known for kindness in town
But inside she screams
She sees nightmares instead of dreams
Finally see the boy
With no joy
Who you thinks an idiot
Always in oblivion
He takes the pills
Not for the thrills
But to forget
The feeling of dread
And the suicidal girl
Who's problems are a whirl
Her mom's sick
And fading quick
You do not know your peers
You do not know their fears
So don't impose your thoughts
Without understanding their loss
Look closer and you'll see
A sad souls silent plea
To be understood
The way they should

Sad Souls
PoëzieThings I never had the courage to say aloud but wrote down instead, hoping that one day another soul like myself would come across it; hoping that someday someone could relate and be able to say 'I am not alone.' ♡Poetry♡ (Cover wasn't drawn by me)
