Endless Souls

5 Years Later

I wake up and look over at him. We've been together for 5 years now, but sadly we're still in Augustine. Xavier wakes up and smiles at me.

"Morning." I whisper.

"Good morning." He whispers against my lips. Tori wakes up, then Damien. I'm surprised the two aren't dating yet. Then there's mom and dad who usually just try to find a way out of here. I mean, Beth has only been outside 5 times in her life except for the first 2 months of her life. Suddenly I flash to the trashcan.

"Ember!" Damien runs over to me. I throw up. 3rd time this week... No. Not possible. When night falls, I go up to Smith.

"I need you to get me something."

"What?" I hand him a list.

"A-" I put my fingers to my lips. He nods then goes out. He comes back in about 20 minutes.

"Here."

"Thanks." I put the wall down. I bite my thumb then I let the blood drip. I wait 3 minutes then I look at it. My suspicions were right. I'm pregnant. Smith comes up to the bars.

"So?" I go up to him and I show him the test.

"Are you going to tell him?"

"I will but not now." He nods.

"Your secret is safe with me." I nod.

"Thank you."

"If you need any extra blood, I'll help you."

"Thank you." I stuff it back in the bag, then I put it on top of the wall before I put it up again. Xavier comes over to me.

"Everything okay?" I smile at him.

"Everything's fine." He nods then I bed down. What the hell am I gonna do? I'm having a baby. And mom or dad are gonna be the first people to notice. What are they gonna do? Damien? No, he would tell Tori who would tell Xavier. It's between me and Smith. Beth crawls on the cot with me.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"Nothing. Just bad dreams."

"I'm sorry." She falls asleep with me. The next morning, I look at the tiny bump. I pull down my shirt quickly. Damn. My bump is sort of noticeable. Dad looks at me, obviously confused. He comes over.

"You okay Em?"

"I'm fine." He pulls me and mom aside.

"What are you doing?"

"Tell us honestly. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine Daddy. I'm just fine." I give them a small smile. He nods then I go back into the cell.

"Ember, I'd like to examine you today." I nod. Xavier gives me a small kiss and I go with Wes. When we're in his office, I pull him over.

"I'm pregnant."

"Then why did you come?"

"I don't want anyone to know yet."

"Okay. How about we take a look at the baby. See how far along you are." I nod then I sit up on the table. He does the ultrasound.

"There's your baby. You seem to be 12 weeks along." I nod.

"Would you like a picture?"

"Sure." He prints it and I stuff it in my back pocket. He grabs my arm before we come back in.

"I know it's not my business. But I think you need to tell Xavier."

"I'll tell him when he gets suspicious." I go back in the cell.
