A Day in the Life of Elizabeth Salvatore

Liv pulls me in the bathroom.

"I need to tell you something because you've become like a sister to me."

"What is it?" I ask gently.

"If you channel all of that power, you're gonna die."

"I know that. But I'm a hybrid."

"You'll be stripped of your vampire side leaving your witch and werewolf side. You'll stay dead."

"Then so be it."

"What?"

"It's me or my entire family. I know what my choice is going to be. If you tell them I'll take you down because nobody is going to fight harder then me to save them."

"Beth-"

"That's my decision and it's final Liv." I really don't care about dying. I may be only 15 but everyone around me is someone I care about. If I stopped myself from doing this we would all die. Except for me. And Tori, Uncle Damien, Aunt Wendy, and Mom. But I would loose Dad, Aunt Caroline, Uncle Klaus, Quinn, everyone. So if I have to die to save them then nobody is going to stop me.

I head downstairs and Quinn corners me.

"I heard that."

"Quinn, you can't tell anyone."

"I have to! I can't just let you die!"

"I am saving all of you! I could never live with myself if everyone that I care about died!" She frowns.

"This is my choice Quinn. I'm choosing to let myself die to save you and your parents and everyone. It's me or them. I'm choosing them. They will live through this. And when 6:23 am comes on December 18th in 2 years I will kill all those travelers and if anyone gets in my way they will regret it." A single tear slips down Quinn's cheek.

"Elizabeth, you're my best friend. I can't just let you die."

"You have to. I'm making this choice. I want to ask you something." She nods.

"If it were reversed would you do the same for me?" Her face falls.

"Now you see why I have to. Because if everyone knew they would try to stop me. And I can't let all of you die for just me." I pull Quinn into my embrace and she sobs on my shoulder.

"But I'll always be there Quinn. As soon as I stop this spell, everything will go back to normal. And we don't know for sure if I'm going to die. I am strong enough to live through this. But don't tell Gwen, or Damien, or anyone. This is between you and me Quinn."

"Okay. I won't tell."

"Thank you." I say softly. Damien comes up the stairs.

"Hey Lizzie."

"Hey Damien. I hope you have a great time on the road."

"I heard that." I go pale.

"Damien, please don't tell."

"Nobody else heard it but I did. You need to tell them."

"You know that they would all do it for me. So why can't I do it for you, and for Aunt Tori, and Aunt Wendy, and my mom, and my dad and everyone! Damien this is my life! It's my choice and if I have to go down with the fact that my mom knows that I'm going to die I'm not going to be able to do it. You cannot tell anyone Uncle Damien. Can I count on you?" He nods softly.

"Thank you."

"I have to tell you something too."

"What?"

"I'm not going to let my sisters die."

"I know that. One of your sisters is my mother. Your family is my family remember?" He smiles and he pulls me into a gentle hug.

"You're so brave."

"I know."

"By the way Grandma wants you downstairs."

"Thanks." I head down there.

"We need your help Lizzie."

"What's going on?"

"Wendy shut her humanity off."

"What?!?"

"Yes."

"What do you need me for?"

"Did Aunt Bon ever teach you that spell that brings vampires down with a single glance?"

"Yes..."

"We need to weaken her."

"Okay." She kisses my head. Suddenly I smell blood.

"Grandma..."

"What is it?"

"Do you smell that?"

"Blood?"

"Fresh blood." There's knock on the door. I go answer it.

"Hi my name's Shaun. Is Wendy here?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm her boyfriend. She hasn't been answering my calls."

"You're afraid of me." He shakes.

"None of us are going to hurt you. Come in." He steps into the house.

"Wendy shut her humanity off. We may need you."
