Heavy iron cuffs cut into your wrists like knives. Just like before. But you were too exhausted after weeks of not sleeping and running to care.
And the room, a cell really, was empty and cold. So cold in fact, that the walls glistened silver with the thin layer of ice covering them. This did not help your sore muscles.
Nothing's changed.
Nothing but the chains that bound your wings to your back so tightly it you couldn't spread them the tiniest bit. It was hard to breathe. Then again, wasn't it always like that in His proximity?
You heard voices outside the door speaking in russian. Then it came. Hisvoice. The smooth, deep rumble that made your heart stop and blood freeze in your veins. Your pupils widened in terror as he stepped into the room.
There he was, just as pretty and deadly as before. Victorious smirk adored his lips. Those lips that once left trails of gentle, cold kisses all over your skin night after night.
"Always so breathtaking," he said in wonder, stepping closer. You were chained well; you couldn't flinch away at all. "Yet it seems, my angel, that you are fatigued. Did you not sleep well?" he mocked with fake concern as he raised his hand to cup your cheek. His icy touch was enough to make you snap and hiss at the contact.
"I stay awake constantly. I'm always awake. Always. I'm afraid that if I fall asleep, I'll see your face. And I can't do it. I just can't," you snarled, baring your teeth like a wild beast. He only chuckled and leaned forward to rest his forehead against yours. There was no hint of his former gentleness in his violet gaze now. "Don't worry, such feelings will pass," he kissed you roughly, biting your lip hard enough to draw blood. Licking his lips he purred, his eyes filled with malice. "After all, you're mine and I won't let you go this time. Let's fall in love again."
