[Prompt: How come she loves you.]

You tried hard to stop your muscles from shaking but the fear was stronger than your will. No surprise there, no shame in it either; who wouldn't be terrified if their life was literally in hands of a demon?

His cold hand was wrapped around your neck, pushing lightly on your pulse, while the other was around your waist. Your back was pressed against his front in all places you could possibly touch. It wasn't to scare you, though it was definitely a nice bonus.

No, it was to provoke him. The other demon that was currently chained to a wall and snarling like a wild animal.

"Let her go," his amber eyes lacked the shine they usually had. Now he looked like his old self; the one whose blood was mafia black.

"What would be the fun in that?" said the silky voice from behind you as his thumb stroked the side of your neck. He leaned forward, his breath fanning your ear.

"You know, I always wondered... How come she loves you?" he growled in his thick Russian accent, always a sign he was losing his composure. "Why did she choose you over me?"

His hold on your throat got alarmingly tight, bruising even. You whimpered, trying desperately to inhale but no air managed to break through the barricade of his hand. You thrashed against him, eyes watering as you looked at Dazai.

He was trying to keep his face emotionless but his mask was cracking with every panicked sound that escaped you. He was scared too. Because he cared for you as much as he didn't care what will happen to him.

Your head was getting light but just as the consciousness was about to slip from you, his grip went loose. You filled your lungs with air hungrily, loud breathing filling the room.

"Don't worry, Little sinner," he said in honeyed voice, planting a kiss to your temple, "I'll give you a chance to atone for your mistake."

Your gaze fell to Dazai, hopelessly screaming 'I love you!' when your voice failed you as Fyodor began to drag you away.
