15: A Glimpse of Yesterday (A Sudden Farewell - 2)

Suho's friends were left dumbfounded after hearing Mrs. Kim's announcement. All of a sudden, he will leave them and the succeeding days to come will be filled with sadness.

Caitlyn was the most affected one. She then thought on how will she face the upcoming problems. Suho was the only one who make her happy and strong. "Suho, if this is the only way to achieve your dreams, then I wanna thank you for everything you've done for me. I owe it all to you. I hope you'll succeed and... " her mind paused. "...I hope we'll meet again..."

Suho didn't take it. He was sad because he sacrificed their friendship to reach his own dream. He wanted to make it happen with his friends, especially Caitlyn, but it seemed like fate didn't want that. He ran at his fastest to his room and released his emotions. Mrs. Kim, on the other hand, was in state of melancholy upon seeing her only son devastated.

Jackie started to be emotional. She will definitely miss her best friend. "Crush, rather," her mind corrected. She wanted to say goodbye to him before leaving. "What an announcement!" was all she said. "But, what about Caitlyn?" she asked in mind. Lay and Tao wanted to give their support to their hyung that's why they decided to follow Suho to his room.

"Hey, Jackie! Wanna join us?" Lay asked.

"Y-yes! I'll go too! But let's find Cait-" she stopped as she saw Caitlyn running away. "Caitlyn! Caitlyn!" Jackie called but her friend continued to flee away.

"Are you okay, Jackie?" Lay asked.

"Yes, Lay. Gwenchana," she replied.

"How about your feelings for hyung?"

"I've already made my choice. I can handle it," Jackie assured. "I also hope that Caitlyn can accept the truth," her mind spoke.

Suho felt devastated as of that moment. He held Caitlyn's gift tightly and said to himself, "I'm sorry, Caitlyn. I can't help for the coming days." He slowly opened what Caitlyn gave him and he became happy pn what he saw: a silver necklace with a well-engraved water drop pendant (A/N: See pic). For him, it was the simplest yet the most meaningful gift he had received in his whole life.

"I'll cherish this gift you gave me, Caitlyn. I'll take care of this. It will remind me of you," Suho promised. He then got a piece of paper and a ballpen and wrote something.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn got her diary and wrote:

May 2, 2001

(Saturday, 8:44 pm)

Feeling totally sad because my one & only bestfriend will leave me alone... Although it's hard to accept but, I must face it... Farewell, Suho... :((( T_T

After writing on her diary, she tore a page from it and started writing a letter to Suho.

The sun shone bright the next day, and Caitlyn immediately woke up. She arranged her bed first before running to Suho's place. When she reached it, Caitlyn took a deep sigh and placed her letter on top of the newspaper in front of their gate. She then hid behind a tree when she heard the door cracked open. Mrs. Kim saw the newspaper but noticed the letter on top of it. It says, "For my best friend Suho..." Mrs. Kim was curious at first but then let herself gave the letter to Suho. Caitlyn felt relieved enough seeing that the letter will reach Suho. She then went home.
