The weekend goes by so fast. Hanging with Chuck, exploring new places, and my date with Avery. I think Avery is ready to take our "relationship" to another level. I had to be honest with her. Well, partially. I told her that I'm really not looking for anything serious. She seems to understand.
I do like hanging out with her, so having her as a friend is just great for me. I can't say that I feel what I feel for Alyssa for her. Many make passes at her, right in front of me, and I feel nothing. That's how it has always been. My only concern with the girls I've dated was the fun and pleasure.
With Alyssa, everything feels different. I feel like I can't get enough of her. I feel like I don't want anyone else even looking at her. I know something else is going on inside me. I have never been this way over a female.
It's now Monday, and I drag myself to practice. I try to avoid Avery as much as possible. Even Chuck notices. He comments on it, but I don't really get into it with him. I trust him, but I'm just not ready.
I walk on the court, ready for practice, and I see Alyssa. I wink at her, and she hides her nervous smile. We are working on a specific play that the coach thinks will work for our upcoming game on Friday. This will be the first one I take part in. This play will highlight my skills. More specifically, my dunk. Everyone is in order. Some girls on my team, some opposing. I am running towards a teammate to steal and then perform my highlight move. As I reach to steal, my opponent attempts to dribble around me. I try to make a sudden move to stop her play. I make a sharp move to the right, and I feel a piercing pain in my ankle. It seems I twisted too suddenly. The pain makes me cry out and fall to the floor. In an instant, all teammates, the coach, and Alyssa are hovering over me. I'm rolling on the ground, holding my foot. Alyssa is quick to push through to see what's wrong.
"Amy, can you stand? We need to get you to the ER," the coach says.
She looks at the coach and tells her that they can go on practicing, that she will take me to the ER. The coach agrees. They need their practice. We have a game soon.
Alyssa helps me up, and I wrap an arm around her neck. Good thing she is a little shorter than I am. She makes a good crutch. She encourages me to just lean my weight on her and apply little to no pressure to my injured foot. She helps me in her car, and we are off to the ER.
I am inspected, given pain meds, and told to just stay off my foot. It is just a sprain. An X-ray confirmed nothing broken. I asked about my upcoming game on Friday, and the doctor said if I stayed off my foot, I could possibly play Friday. I am happy with the news.
Alyssa nudges my shoulder, "get better first, will you?"
I grin at her.
"Yes, doctor Alyssa."
We get back in her car, and she takes me home. She helps me out the car and up my few steps. I get at the door and open it.
"Want to come in?" I ask her.
She looks shy and shakes her head.
"I should leave now."
"Will you just leave me at my door?"
I have a crutch, but I want her to come in. She shakes her head and continues to help me in the living room. She sits me on the sofa and turns to leave. I grab her hand and pull her to me.
"One kiss?"
She bends over, hovering just above my face giggling, and says, "aren't you hurting?"
I reach my hand at the back of her neck and pull her to me.
"Not enough."
I kiss her lips softly, and my eyes close as she kisses me back. My hand leaves the back of her neck and is running forward to her chest. She snatches my hand, intertwining our fingers, breaking our kiss.
"Goodnight, Amy," she says, walking towards the door.
"Wet dreams," I call back at her.
She laughs and flips me the finger before she exits the door. So sexy!
