Chapter 6

~Nikki's Pov~

I walked into my house after Ashton dropped me off and went upstairs immeditately. I was so stressed out and so tired I just had to take a nap. I have a lot of homework, but right now I don't really give a crap if I don't finish it.

I crawl into bed and pull the covers over me. I feel so warm and cozy. I fall asleep in seconds.

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I groan and pick it up, not even looking who's calling.

"What?" I said a little harsh.

"Hello. Good afternoon to you too." It's Ashton. What's so important that he had to wake me up?

"Why did you call? I was kind of taking a nap here."

"Sorry! But it is like 8 o'clock so I thought you would be doing homework or something," he said with an apologetic sound in his voice.

"It's okay."

"I was just wondering if you...um...wanted to go get ice cream and see a movie this weekend? Like on Saturday? We can hang out as friends."

I was thinking if I was busy on Saturday. Nope. I'm free, just like any other Saturday.

"Sure. I guess we can do that."

I could hear him crack a smile. "Great! I'll pick you up at 5?"

"Yeah. I'll be ready. Well, I'll see you at school tomorrow, Ash."

"Yup. Bye, Nikki."

After I said 'bye', I decided to get out of bed for the first time in four hours. I had to see if my parents were home.

I wasn't even at the bottom of the stairs when I heard my parents fighting. I always try to ignore them when they do that.

I walk into the living room and turn on the TV and turn it up loud so I don't have to hear my parents yelling at each other. I'm so sick of this crap.

They promised when they got married that they would always love each other. It doesn't look like they kept that promise. They broke the #1 promise all married couples should keep. I know they're going to get a divorce soon. It's so obvious.

I can't stand to stay down here for even another minute. I jump up from the couch and head up to my room again to start on my homework.

I hate my life. I really do. So many promises broken, I don't even know who to believe anymore. I don't know who to trust.

~Ashton's Pov~

"I can't believe she said yes you guys! I'm so excited!"

I'm with the guys at my house. It's 10 o'clock on a school night but they usually stay over night anyway.

"I'm just upset that I can't go." Michael said with I frown. I hit him and he stuck his tongue out at me. My friends are so immature. That's why I love them.

"Yeah why can't we go? We love her too!" Calum yells at me.

"Guys! I just want to spend time with her by myself, okay? I'm sorry."

They all nod and start playing Fifa again. I zone out when I start thinking about Saturday night. I hope she has fun. I know I will as long as I'm with her.
