Chapter 16

Rebecca and I are with the boys at Luke's house. He has a built in pool in his backyard. And it's super hot outside. I'm melting like a popsicle. Becca looks the same way.

The boys are in the pool pushing each other under water. Michael looks like he is literally drowning Luke. He won't get off his back. It's kind of entertaining, but Luke looks pissed off. He elbows Michael in the gut and he falls off of him. I laugh and Michael shoots me a glare.

I'm happy we aren't in the water. Becca and I are on our backs trying to tan in the grass.

"Sometimes, guys are just too immature," Rebecca says to me.

I nod in agreement. "You should see them when they play video games."

She sighs. "Jason and I used to play video games together all the time."

Her and Jason broke up a week ago. Rebecca is still really sad about it so she's been hanging out with me and the boys. He apparently dumped her because he needed time to focus on himself. Bullshit.

"Just forget about him. If he didn't want to date you, then he's fricken crazy. You're amazing."

She nodded and said, "Thanks Nik. I can always count on you to be there for me."

I smiled and looked at the boys who were now talking at the far end of the pool.

~Ashton's Pov~

"Dude, you need to tell her you like her. The longer you wait, the longer she's single and any guy would want her," Luke said to Calum.

Calum really likes Rebecca. He's been sneaking peeks at her every chance he got.

"It's not the simple, you guys. I mean, I REALLY like her. I doubt she likes me."

I was tired of hearing all of this shit so I said to him, "Calum. You realize if you don't make a move now, you might never get her. So get off of your lazy ass and ask her out already."

He shrugged and sighed. He nodded and jumped out of the pool. As he walked up to the girls, he tripped on the garden hose and fell face first into the grass. To be honest, it was hilarious.

He stood up and looked at us three. He glared at us, probably because we were laughing our asses off. That was the funniest thing I've seen all day.

He was obviously embarrassed. His cheeks were red, but he still went up to Rebecca. He pulled her aside to ask her.

I looked at Nikki, who was still laying on top of her towel, trying to get a nice tan. She looks so beautiful, with her dark blond hair shining in the sunlight, her purple sunglasses and cute bathing suit. I'm so lucky I get that beautiful woman.

~Nikki's Pov~

Calum just pulled Rebecca aside to ask her something. I just know he's asking her on a date. It's so obvious.

I'm just waiting patiently and I look over at Ashton, who is staring at me. I look at away quickly and see Becca walking back over to her towel.

"What did he want to know?" I ask her.

"He was asking if I wanted to go on a date."

"I knew it! What did you say? Did you say yes?"

She nodded. "I need to get my mind off of Jason. Even the thought of him makes me want to kill someone. I want to see if there are other guys who like a girl so much that they would never let them go. That's all I need at the moment."

I smile at her. Ashton calls my name and I look over at him. He's on Luke's shoulders and he's motioning me to come into the pool.

"I don't want to swim!" I yell at him.

"Yes you do! Just get in!"

"Fine, but you'll have to come get me yourself."

After I said that, he got off of Luke's shoulders and got out of the pool. He walked over to me and I stood up. He smirked and then in one quick movement, he picked me up bridal style. He walked over to the deepest side of the pool which was 10 ft. and threw me in.

When my head was above the water, I saw that Ashton and the boys were laughing at me. I rolled me eyes and swam over to the side to get out. I went back to my towel and lied back down on it. Ashton walked over and lied down next to me.

He grabbed hand and squeezed it. He looked at me and I looked back at him. He smiled and kissed my cheek. I can't believe how in love I am with this boy.
