Chapter 17

"What's up you guys?" I asked when I sat down at the lunch table. Luke isn't at school today because he has a cold. So it's just me, Becca, Ashton, Michael and Calum.

"Hey, babe," Ashton pecked my lips when I sat down. I smiled at him and started eating my lunch. I was starving and a cheeseburger was just what I needed at the moment.

Calum and Rebecca are sitting next to each other. Their date the other night went wonderfully, or so I heard. Becca actually really likes him. They're not at the kissing stage yet, just the hand holding one.

Ashton looks over at me. "Hey, Nik? Do you want to come over today after school? Michael and Cal are."

I nod, "Yeah, of course. I'll bring Becca."

He smiled and nodded. "It's a date," he winked at me. I giggled and then kept on devouring my cheeseburger. I didn't have time for breakfast this morning since my alarm clock didn't go off. My mom had to wake me up.

The bell rings. Lunch is over.

I stand up and walk to the trash can and dump all of the garbage and food I didn't eat into it.

After I put my tray away, I walk to my locker. I take out my things for study hall. I usually never work during study hall. No one really does, we just sit and talk to each other. It's definitely my favorite class. Well, second favorite. I only like science because I get to see Ashton.

I walk into Mrs. Young's study hall classroom and take a seat at my desk. I sit next to a girl in my grade named Sarah. I usually talk to her during this hour.

"Hey, Nikki," she says to me.

"Hi, Sarah," I see she's looking at a typed up paper. "What are you doing?"

She sighs, "I got an F on my history paper and I have to look over it and fix my mistakes. It's stupid."

Sarah has always had trouble in history. That's how we first spoke to each other. She needed help on her homework from history. I'm ok at history, so I decided to help her.

"That sucks. Do you need any help at all?" I kindly ask.

She shakes her head. "No, thank you. I'll just look over it tonight at home. So what's new with you?"

I shrug. "Nothing really. I've just been spending a lot of time with Ashton. My life's not very exciting."

"Yes it is! Don't put yourself down like that."

I shrug again. "Oh, hey! I just thought of something! Do you want to come over to Ashton's house with me and Rebecca today after school?"

"Yeah! I'd love too! Thanks for inviting me!"

"No problem." I flash a smile at her and glance at Mrs. Young, who is eating yogurt with her feet up on her desk. I hate it when teachers don't care. It pisses me off.

Class ended faster than I thought it would. I walked out into the hallway with Sarah. We started talking about Ashton and his friends. Then Luke became the subject.

"Luke would have been going to Ash's with us, but he's sick today."

"Yeah! I know Luke! He's in our class! I've never talked to him, but he's pretty cute," she said.

"You know, he's single." I move my eyebrows up and down and she rolls her eyes.

"Shut up!" She swats my arm. "I gotta go to 6th period. See you after school then?"

I nod, "Yup. See you then!" I wave to her as I'm walking away.

I'm walking down the hallway to my next class and I must not be looking where I'm going because I run into a guy. Not any guy. My guy.

"Hey, babe. Watch where you're going!" He put his hands on his hips and looked at me like he was mad.

I laughed at him. "I'm sorry!"

He chuckled and I rolled my eyes. "Are you riding with Rebecca to my house?"

"Yeah, but there's someone else coming with us. Is that okay?"

"Yes, of course it is. What's her name?"

"Sarah. She's a good friend of mine. You'll like her."

He smiled. "Well, I have to go to class now. I can't wait until science because I get to see your beautiful face again."

I was blushing. My cheeks were on fire. Why does he have to do this to me?

He pulled me into a hug. He hugs me so tight. Like he never wants me to go.

He walks away, but not without a goodbye kiss. I go to my classroom and sit down.

~Ashton's Pov~

The bell rings telling me that calculus is over. I stand up and walk out the door and head towards my locker. After I get everything I need, I go to science.

I walk in and see Nikki sitting down at her desk. I walk up behind her and kiss the top of her head. I can smell her perfume. It's makes her smell like flowers.

She turns around and smiles at me. I sit down next to her and grab her hand.

I start talking, "You know what?"

"What?"

"I think we should go on another date."

"Where did you have in mind?"

I guess I didn't think about that. "Um...maybe we could....just.....uh...."

She giggled. "We could just go to Pizza Hut or something."

I nodded, agreeing.

Mr. Tomas is trying to get everyone to settle down, but it's not working. He's one of the worst teachers I've ever had.

He starts to talk about some weird shit and I look at Nikki. She's so goddamn beautiful, I can't help myself from staring. She has the most beautiful hair, eyes, nose, lips, everything.

She notices me staring at her. I look away, embarrassed. I still get shy around her sometimes even though we've been dating for about a month and a half.

The rest of the class is slow and I must have been asleep because when the bell rang, I almost fall out of my chair.

I stand up and grab all of my stuff. Nikki stands up and walks out into the hallway with me.

Once we get outside, I ask her, "See you in a little while, then?"

She nods. "Yeah," she kisses me on the cheek. "Bye."

She walks away to go to Rebecca's car. I go to my car and sit in the drivers seat. The silence quickly turns to loud, obnoxious noise when Michael and Calum get in the car.

I tell them to shut it and start driving to my house. I keep thinking about the date I'm going to have with Nik soon. When we get time alone, I feel like she's mine. All mine. I love feeling like that.
