Chapter 12

~Ashton's Pov~

Why are they here? Sure, I told them Nikki and I were going out for dinner tonight, but that was an invite to come over.

"What the hell are you guys doing here? I told you I was on a date with Nikki."

"I don't know. We just wanted to see her! She's our friend!" Luke says.

"Yeah! We want to hang out with her too!" Calum chimes in.

I look at Nikki who is smiling at them.

"Awww you guys. I really want to spend some time with Ashton tonight, though. How about we hang out tomorrow after school? We can go out for pizza!"

"Okay! Can we go without Ashton going, though?" Michael says.

I glare at him. "I'm going with, asshole. I'm not leaving my girlfriend alone with my three friends if I'm totally available."

Nikki looks at me. "Actually, Ash. Can I go without you?" That made my eyes widen. "I'm sorry, it's just...they really want to spend time with me. I can come over after pizza tomorrow?"

I sigh and nod. I'm not happy about this but I agree anyway. I'll do whatever it takes to make her happy.

The boys leave and Nikki and I sit down on the couch.

I ask her, "So, what movie do you want to watch?"

"I don't know, you pick."

"Nope. You have to pick."

She groans. "Fine."

She walks over to the DVD shelf I have next to the tv. She takes out The Notebook. I smile as she puts it in the DVD player. This is such a romantic movie.

She sits back down next to me and I put my arm around her. She puts her head on my chest. I use my other hand to start playing with her soft hair. I can tell she likes it.

The movie begins and she gets up to get a blanket. She covers both of us with it and snuggles up to me again. I kiss the top of her head and start watching the movie.

The movie is about halfway over when she falls asleep. Her whole body is laying on the couch with her head on my lap. I start to rub her back and watch the rest of the movie.

When it ends, I poke her face until she wakes up. Her eyes flutter open and she looks at me.

"Hello, beautiful. You fell asleep."

She nods and sits up. "What time is it?" She asks me.

I look at my watch. "Eleven."

She sighs. "I think I should go home now."

Dammit.

"Okay."

We stand up and she's so tired that she almost falls down so I catch her. I pick her up bridal style and carry her upstairs. We get to the car and i let her down so she could get in. I get in and we start driving to her house.

"I'm tired." She says and I chuckle.

"Nooooo." I say sarcastically.

She hits my arm and I smirk at her. "You promise me you'll get a good nights sleep tonight because I don't want you to be in a pissy mood all day tomorrow."

She smiles at me. "I promise."

I return the smile and just keep on driving. We pull in at about 11:20. We look at each other and I lean in for a kiss. Our lips connect and it just feels so great. I love kissing her soft, warm lips.

I pull away. "Goodnight, babe. You better get that sleep."

"I will. Bye."

She gets out of the car and walks to her front door and walks in, but not without waving at me like she always does. I blow her a kiss and she smiles.

I pull out of the driveway and start driving back to my house. Tonight was a perfect night. I'm so glad I met her; I couldn't even imagine life without her now. I'm a little mad about the fact she didn't invite me to come along with the boys tomorrow, but I guess it's a good idea for her to become friends with my friends. I just hope none of them fancy her.

If any of them ever pull a move on her, they're screwed.
