"Lisa? Did you hear what I said?" I nod my head only half listening to half of what my dad is telling me. It's been a week since Chase left, and three days since I moved in with my dad. Turns out he has two sons and one daughter. The oldest son is named Rick, he's almost fourteen, the daughter is the middle child, her name is Ivy. She's about twelve, then the youngest is named Phoenix, he's about eight years old. "Lisa, answer me, what are you gonna do about the dog?" I spin on my heels and look straight in his eyes. I haven't been able to look at him since I moved in. But he's been nagging at me about Dakota because apparently, Phoenix is terrified of dogs and won't go near mine. "You know what dad, Dakota is my dog, you said I could keep her here and that's what I'm doing, Phoenix or whoever can just suck it up because I'm not gonna get rid of her, or whatever cause someone else has a problem." I walk to my room and slam the door. Oh and another thing I gotta do while living with my dad. I gotta go to school again. Yay for me. I frown at thinking of going back there. I'll have to face Blake, but then I gotta deal with all the looks people will give me once they find out about Jake and I.
Speaking of Jake, we're supposed to go on our first official date tonight. He's gonna take me to his place for a bit, just hanging out then we're gonna go to the park near his house and get something to eat. I hop in the shower real quick, the get ready. I slip on a burgundy long sleeve shirt, with black skinny jeans and my black and white converse. I let my wet hair down and let the curls form. I put some chapstick on, and mascara and I call it good. My phone beeps and I see a text form Jake. I smile while opening it.
Jake <3- Hey, bet you look beautiful, then again you always do. I'll be there in a few minutes. Be ready cause I got the Camaro out and I drive fast. ;)
I giggle and grab everything I think I'll need and go out to the porch and wait for him. My stomach is bubbling with butterflies and it makes me excited that I feel nervous to see him again even though it's been only five days last we saw each other. I hear his car and I stand up and start smiling. He's a few blocks down the road yet I know how he drives. He pulls in and I skip to the drivers side and when he gets out I give him a hug. He hugs back then pushes me away and grabs me by the shoulders and has an expression on I can't read. But it worries me and a million things run to my mind on what made him like this. "Did you just skip to my car? I've never saw anyone do that." I release the breath I was holding and smile. "Yeah, I do it when I'm happy and excited." He smiles and kisses my cheek. "Its cute babe." I smile and blush like a tomato. I start walking to the passenger side of the car and he opens the door for me. I tip my head back and laugh and it feels so good to laugh, to be happy. I hop in the seat and look at him while giggling. "Wow, what a gentleman." He winks at me and shuts my door. I watch him go around the front of the car and I can see he's happy too and he's laughing also. God, I love him. He gets in and he starts the car up. The car roars to life. I feel the motor beneath my feet and I smile some more.
We purposely drive around the town to stall. We have the windows down and I regret wearing the warmer clothing because its actually muggy out. I slip my shoes off and stick my feet on the dash. I watch Jake outta the corner of my eye, he's sneaking glances at me while driving and at red lights he'll just look at me and sit there and smile. I grab his free hand and kiss it. I wish things could be absolutely normal. "Do you wanna do something else besides chill?" I shrug. We pass the bookstore where we met that one night when I ran out of Veronica's. We pass the high school, and I tense up a bit. Tomorrow is the day I'm going back. The school knows why I've been gone for three weeks and they understand. Jake got all my schoolwork for me and has been helping me when I struggle. We stop at a gas station and go in. "Get whatever you want. I'll be right back." He leaves and goes wherever and I go to the candy aisle and get wild berry Skittles, few chocolate bars, couple packs of gum, then I head to the chip aisle. I grab about four bags of my favorite kinds and grab a milk also. I chuckle. Then I pass the donuts and my stomach growls. I smirk and grab a box of glazed kind. Jake comes up to me and his eyes go huge. "You sure you can eat all of that?" I nod and we head to pay.
