What does it mean to love? What does it mean to truly and absolutely fall head over heels for someone? Do you describe it as butterflies in your stomach every time you see them? Do they catch your gaze and lightly smile at you? Is that what love feels like? Some would describe love as all things good in the world cultivating together to create one big chemical in our brains that we cannot ever get enough of.

But I wouldn't.

Love is hard, love is passionate like the dying sun, love is not easy. It will only get harder from here on out. Love makes you jealous, angry, disappointed, and leaves you feeling like you're lacking.

Why do people yearn to fall in love so quickly? Love is not meant to be rushed, it is to be taken slow. You have to go with the flow, move with the current of emotions to make it to the end of the stream. I think one reason why relationships never end up working out is just that reason. They are rushed. The I love you's are said too quickly, the clothes are taken off too fast, the fights do not end soon enough, and the end sneaks up on you right when you're not expecting it.

That is why love hurts. Love hurts so bad. It leaves this huge hole void of feelings in your stomach. After you've felt love, you crave for it everyday. But then, it ends, and you get no more. All you are left with is a broken heart and soul to match. I do not see why people keep trying to fall in love when everyone knows it will not work out. It never does. The world will fuck you over yet again, and leave you hopelessly lost.

Therefore, I do not believe in love. Love is such a twisted word. It is not happy. It is not what you see in the movies. Love sucks.

All the times you caught him staring at you? When you laugh, he takes in your expression as if he is staring at the most beautiful painting on earth? When you're sad, he holds you in his arms and tells you it'll be okay? That is not love. Those are moments. Moments where you are feeling extreme emotion. I do not think that is love. Love is not happy, those are happy moments that make you feel fuzzy on the inside.

Love builds you up and breaks you down, it sets you up for failure.

But happy moments do not do that. They make you feel good, excited, and it fills the void, that love has made in your life.

Make life about the happy moments, not about finding someone to love.

We need happier moments, less love.
