●●●Charlotte's POV
I felt an odd sense of deja vu. Except Mark isn't here. I was counting in spending a night alone. By myself. Without Henry here.
I rested my chin on my knees and sighed.
"Why are you here, Henry?" I asked softly.
"I can't hang out with my best friend? We've grown apart. I don't like it." Henry grumbled.
"That's because you're always busy with Bianca." I mumbled under by breath.
Henry sighed but didn't say anything more. I suddenly remembered I still haven't turned my phone back on.
"I'll be right back." I told Henry before running up the stairs.
I switch on my phone and tapped my foot as I wait for it to fully turn on. Immediately my ringer was going off like crazy. Alas, most of the messages were from Henry. However, one was from Mark.
Marky: I'm coming over once I leave the doctor.
It was sent at 3 and it's now almost 6. Well he'll be here soon.
Ding Dong
Speak of the devil.

Mark and Henry in the same room scared me. It's not that they'll do anything bad. It's just that the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"How come everytime I visit you, he's here?" Mark questioned me.
"Can you stop talking about me like I'm not in the room?" Henry grunted from across the room.
"No."
I chuckled but covered it with a cough when Henry shot me a look. I continued reading the book I picked out from my bookshelf. Mark was lying on the couch with his head in my lap while Henry was doing something on his phone in the armchair. Probably texting Bianca.
"Shouldn't he be with his girlfriend right now?" Mark continued to inquire.
"Bianca is visiting her grandmother. She won't be back for another week."
Henry announced."I bet your sad." Mark chuckled.
Henry rolled his eyes and rose from the arm chair.
"I'm getting juice. Char, you want anything?"
"No, I'm fine."
Henry walked into my kitchen and started to rummage around the refrigerator. Mark yawned and lifted his head from my lap.
"It's getting late. I should head home." He announced, stretching.
"Maybe you should take it easy with Henry. How come you guys dislike each other so much?" I inquired.
"I don't know. He started it. See you at school." He said before picking up his backpack and leaving.
I rolled my eyes and relaxed back in the couch.
"Did he leave?" Henry asked walking out of the kitchen.
"Yes. He said it was getting late." I replied.
Henry gave a sound of acknowledgment and slipped his Wahoo Punch. (Is that what it's called?)
A comfortable silence fell between us. I was reading my book and Henry was scrolling through his phone.
"Char," Henry mumbled.
"Hmm?"
"Why won't you get the surgery?"
I blinked once and then closed my book.
"I though I explained it to you? I don't want to lose my emotions." I muttered quietly.
"So you'd rather die than not feel anything? What about everyone?"
"What about everyone?"
"All the people you'll be hurting! Your mom, your dad. Jasper, Ray, me-"
"What about me, Henry? Do you think I want to be in this situation?" I exclaimed, raising my voice a little.
"Let's chill a little. I didn't mean for it to come out like that."
I took a deep breath and counted to ten.
"I'm just sick of everyone telling me what I should decide. No one knows what I doing through. No one knows how hard it is to wake up and not know of your body will completely shut down. This decision was not easy. I would love to live another ten year. I would love to accomplish my dreams. I would love to find a soulmate of my own and live the rest of my life with them. Tragically, that's not going to happen." I uttered.
Henry stared at me wordlessly.
"Why don't you just leave?" I said quietly.
Henry nodded, grabbed his bookbag, and left.

I stepped into school and was immediately met with a huge crowd standing in the middle of the hallway. I looked around and saw Jasper jumping to see around it.
"Jasper!" I yelled catching his attention.
"Henry and Mark are fighting!" He yelled as soon as I neared him.
"What you didn't try to stop them?" I questioned him.
"I got scared!"
I sighed and started shoving my way through people. I was thrown a couple of dirty looks but I didn't care. I was determined to get to Henry and Mark.
I broke through the crowd to see Henry pinning Mark down.
"Henry stop!" I yelled. I didn't catch his attention though.
I sighed and walked right up to them. I grabbed the back of Henry's shirt and pulled, but he didn't budge. I reached down and grabbed Henry's wrist, ignoring the sharp sting that shot through my arm. I detached his hand from Mark's shoulder and him up to stand beside me. Mark immediately rose from the floor.
"What is your guy's problem?" I asked them. I didn't get an answer though. They just kept staring at each other.
"Alright, alright. Clear the halls!" I heard Ms. Shapen say approaching us.
Everyone ran to their classes, leaving Mark, Henry, and I the only ones left.
"Bolton! Hart! New kid! What's going on?" Ms. Shapen questioned us as she got closer.
"Hart is always starting trouble. I just showed him I'm not the one to mess with." Mark replied.
"I'm always starting trouble?! Mark practically stole my best friend and rubs it in my face every chance he gets!" Henry started angrily.
"That's enough! To the office, all three of you!" Shapen said.
I looked at both of them angrily before stomping in the the direction of the office.
