Charlotte's POV

"Oh?" I said, glancing at him out of the corner of my eye.

"I'm only sixteen, Charr. I want to live life."

"I can't stop you from doing anything. You're your own person. You don't need my consent to do anything concerning you." I said.

He looked and me and smiled softly.

"I love you, Charlotte." He stated, giving me an intense look.

"I love you too, Marky. We should be getting back. I don't want Henry to have an aneurism." I joked.

Henry's POV

I checked my phone for what felt like the hundredth time.

"Why isn't she back yet?" I asked, turning to Ray.

"It's been ten minutes." He deadpanned.

"It felt like an hour." I grumbled.

"I trust the Mark. He looks like a good guy."

"Looks can be deceiving."

"Charlotte's fine. Stop worrying." Ray said, rising from his seat.

"Where are you going?" I inquired.

"Anywhere you aren't." He answered pressing the up button on the elevator.

I sighed and placed my phone down on the table.

"What's wrong, dear friend?" Schwoz asked, stepping out of the junk room.

"Charlotte still isn't back yet." I sighed.

"Well, where did she go?"

"She went with Mark! She's always with him."

"You sound jealous." Schwoz announced, sitting across from me.

"What do I have go be jealous of? I have Bianca." I stated.

"Where is Bianca right now?"

"Well she's..." I trailed off.

I actually had no idea where Bianca was.
"I rest my case." Schwoz said with a smug look on his face.

I glared at him as I rose from my seat.

"Where are you going?" Schwoz asked.

"Away from you." I said, mashing the elevator button.

Schwoz watched me as I stepped onto the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor.

The elevator doors closed and I released the breath I was holding in. I wasn't jealous, right? I was in love with Bianca. She was my soulmate. I looked down at my wrist to see Bianca's name written in elegant cursive. The opaque black seemed to be fading a bit, but I assumed it was because of time. It had been a whole year since my sixteenth birthday.

I stepped off of the elevator and waltzed to the front the see Charlotte behind the counter.

"Why didn't you tell me you were back?" I questioned her.

"Ray told me you were freaking out. I didn't want to deal with that for another ten minutes." She responded.

"An update would have been nice." I grumbled.

Charlotte hummed.

"Here. Can you place this busk of Pavlov over near the window? It's a new edition."

"Isn't that the guy who tortured dogs?"

"Technically it wasn't torture." Charlotte answered.

"In my eyes it was." I said before lifting the giant statue and placing it near the window.

"So, how was your little date?" I asked, waltzing back over the counter.

"You mean my friendly outing with Mark? Amazing."

"Mhm. Are you blind, Char? I see the way he looks at you."

"You the way a friend looks at another friend? What are you implying?" Charlotte inquired.

"

Mark has a crush on you! It's obvious." I exclaimed.

"Henry," Charlotte slammed her palm on the counter. "This crush you speak of doesn't exist. I was his first friend who was like him is a new town. The least you can do is be more empathetic!" She yelled before walking to the back.

"Where are you going?"

"Away from you!"
