I need a reason to exist.
●●●Charlotte's POV
Henry softly traced the dark ink on my wrist. We were still down in the Mancave, only we had moved to sit beside each other on the couch. It was well past 9 pm now. Junk N' Stuff was closed. Ray had gone to bed. Schwoz was in the junk room.
"What time is your mom expecting you home?" Henry murmured.
"I told her I'm staying over your house to finish a project," I replied.
Henry gave a soft sound of acknowledgment.
It was silent, but unlike every other time, this silence was comforting. I rested my head on Henry's shoulder and sighed.
"I wish things were different," I spoke softly.
Henry hummed but said nothing.
"You think we should head home now?" I asked.
"Yeah. You're spending the night." Henry replied, grabbing my hand and standing.
"But-"
"Didn't you tell your mom you were staying over? Exactly, let's go."
Henry dragged me along to the elevator and pressed the up button.
"But the last time I woke Piper up to sleep in her room she made me sleep on the floor," Charlotte spoke.
"Who said your sleeping with Piper?" Henry asked.
Charlotte opened her mouth to speak but closed it. The last time she and Henry slept in the same bed was when they were kids. It would be weird to do now.
"My parents should be asleep now, so they won't ask too many questions." Henry continued.
"Uhh...okay."
"You sound unsure."
Charlotte remained quiet, unsure of what to say. She realized Henry was still holding onto her hand and gave it a short tug.
"My hands are sweaty, let go." Charlotte insisted.
"Nah," Henry uttered, not looking at her.
"Please?"
"Nah."

Omniscient
The bright light streaming through Henry's open blinds woke Charlotte the next morning. Well, that and the need to pee. She sat up and placed her feet on the floor. She glanced back at Henry, who was still fast asleep. Charlotte was honestly surprised his twin-sized bed could fit both of them.
She left his room and walked down the hall to his bathroom. After doing her business, she brushed her teeth with the extra toothbrush his family kept under the sink.
Charlotte stared at her reflection and sighed. She needed to get more sleep considering the two designer bags under her eyes. She hadn't noticed her sleep schedule getting off track. The whole week has honestly been draining.
Charlotte opened the door to the bathroom and walked back to Henry's room. He was still in the same position as she had left him in.
She needed to head back to her house so that her mom won't get worried. She didn't want to leave Henry, but she had to. She decided to place the clothes she had on from the night before, making sure to keep a close eye on Henry in the process of getting dressed. She was just putting on her shoes when she heard Henry move around.
"I didn't realize what time it was. Let me get up so that I can walk you home." Henry stated before stretching his limbs.
"It's fine. My house isn't that far of a walk from yours." Charlotte replied.
"I don't feel comfortable with-"
"Henry I have walked home by myself countless times. I will be fine. Stop worrying." Charlotte interrupted.
"I just don't want a repeat of what happened the last time you walked home by yourself," Henry said.
"That won't happen again. Besides, you can't just be by my side all day. This probably won't even be a problem soon." Charlotte muttered the last part.
"What do you mean?"
"Hm?"
"The last part, what did you mean?" Henry asked again.
He had heard.
"HENRY!" The shrill sound of Piper's scream rang out before Charlotte could answer.
"Whoops. Better go see what she wants. I'll just sneak out the window." Charlotte called before heading up towards his window.
"Okay, but...and she's gone." Henry chuckled humourlessly to himself before standing from his bed. He stretched once more before opening his door.
"HENRY! HURRY UP, BREAKFAST IS READY!" Piper called again.
"Okay!" Henry called back.
"MOM SAID-"
"I'll be down in a minute!"
Henry rolled his eyes and headed to the bathroom. He did his business and turned on the water to brush his teeth. He was almost done when the sight of something in his peripheral vision made him freeze. He pulled back his arm to observe the underside of his wrist in shock. His heartbeat was loud against his ribcage.
There, etched across Henry's wrist in dark, ebony ink wasn't the name Bianca, but Charlotte instead.
