A pond. A lake. A river. A sea. An ocean. They all have one thing in common – water. I'd never been fishing before. Water was a necessity for all creatures, so why did we refrain fish from receiving what they rightfully deserved? Because fish were what we rightfully deserved. So, is anything deserving at all? If we must distance other species from what they require to survive just for our benefits, then do we deserve what we gain? Are we superior to those in suffering or are we inferior to the suffering?
You caught one, ever so effortlessly. Then another. And another. A triumphant smile dared to land safely onto your face and a proud feeling was poured into my mouth; I gulped it down.
We went fishing that day. I caught guilt.
